January 2009 Celestial Timings
By Cayelin K Castell
Great Spirit, thank you for granting me the serenity and grace to accept life… on life’s terms;
Along with the courage to graciously and easily change what is mine to change;
And the supreme wisdom to trust the perfection of what is happening in every moment ~ Cayelin K Castell
I am grateful that I am usually able to accept what IS and roll with the flow of what is unfolding. However, I still resist accepting myself when feeling challenged and I am not always able to accept everything that happens either. The above prayer came to me as the result of the circumstances I faced this December while writing the January 2009 Celestial Timings.
You may recognize how it is similar to the Serenity Prayer.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
My biggest lesson of acceptance this month began on December 15. By the end of that day I had almost finished the first draft of the January 2009 Celestial Timings when by some weird mysterious function of Windows Vista I was suddenly looking at a version of the January Timings I had started three days earlier. It took me a few moments to realize all the work I had spent the last few days doing had completely vanished. No, NO, NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! This did NOT just happen!
I refused to accept that all that hard work was now gone even though I had an overwhelming sinking sick feeling in my gut. After whining and whimpering about the situation to my beloved partner who was in Wisconsin at the time…and being late at night I did the only thing that made sense and went to bed hoping that by some miracle the situation would be different in the morning.
I wasn’t really surprised when the next morning didn’t change the reality of what had happened the night before. In fact, it looked like even more of my work had disappeared overnight or maybe it just felt that way. I wasn’t really sure though I know I felt even more discouraged and hopeless as I realized there was no way I could re-create what I had written. Plus I was feeling stressed about finding the time to do the re-write with all the commitments I had.
My schedule was so full the next few days I didn’t have time to face this disaster for almost a week. Whenever I thought about having to re-do what I had already done I was furious and frustrated. Acceptance felt like an unachievable illusion. Somewhere along the way I decided what I need to do was to accept my inability to accept the situation.
Weirdly that seemed to be helpful even though I still felt grouchy and mad when I finally sat down to re-write the January Timings because I knew they could never be as inspired as my first writing especially considering my attitude about it. Somewhere in the re-writing process a light of understanding began to dawn on me. I was beginning to see that my experience was providing me with one of the primary key themes for 2009. I was noticing the theme of acceptance kept showing up and how my own inability to accept what had happened was still affecting me. As I gradually came to accept that I had actually received a gift in this situation the re-writing of the January Timings got a little easier.
What I am now understanding is how 2009 is a year filled with opportunities for radical change and perspective shifts that will most likely occur in unexpected ways through unusual events. Many of these events will test our ability to go with the flow and Accept What IS, while also trusting that we are being divinely guided no matter what it looks like on the surface.
The gifts of Acceptance and trust empowers the process of transformation. Our task will be to know when to take action to change, what IS ours to change, and when to release and let go and accept what IS when it is not our job to change it or make it be different than what it is. Often when we release attachments to what Is or Isn’t that is when it can easily change to a more authentic expression.
It seems that my experience writing this month’s Celestial Timings is a living example of the insights and inspiration that can come from acceptance even though I felt resistant and the situation was forced on me. It did take me awhile to finally get it.
It is important to remember that you don’t have to like what is happening. I didn’t. You might even spend time wishing it was different. I certainly did. Then you might even find it is important to accept that you don’t feel accepting of whatever is happening. When the shift of perception occurred for me I found I was thinking what felt like a new mantra or affirmation. Learn to Discern. Love the rhyming aspect…yet the essence for me was Learn to Discern what you can change and what you can’t. Sometimes it helps to realize what you can change is your perception about a situation.
When your perception shifts then the circumstances can change and suddenly we have a whole new way of perceiving the gifts. With such an incredibly strong Aquarian theme for 2009 emphasizing “freedom from the known” and “events of extreme novelty” radical evolutionary change is guaranteed. The events that take place this year will be whatever it takes to get us to where we are destined to be. The more we are willing to roll with and accept these changes the easier and more rewarding it will be.
So you may find more typos than usual in this month’s Timings…something I am practicing releasing and accepting especially when I see them after they have been posted. My New Year’s wish is for peace, plenty and illumination for everyone. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey and may you have a joyful, magically inspired, Happy New Year!!!

Daily Timings
Jan 01, Thursday. Happy 2009 New Year. December 31, 2008 Timings reminded us that mid-night tonight we are receiving and the infusion of light from Sirius, our brightest fixed star, as it is located directly over head. The Sirian light codes coming to Earth at this time are helping to inform this Time as we continue to navigate this 26,000 year Turning of the Ages. The Sirian light codes are waking up latent information carried in our DNA.
nterestingly, scientists are discovering that the DNA code is literally made up of light and light carries information. Therefore, the light codes in our DNA are designed to respond to the intensified Galactic and Sirian light that are accelerating growth and evolution. Sirius is our brightest fixed star near the Galactic Edge and has been linked with the winged Goddess Isis who William Henry suggests in his DVD Stargate 2012 is a symbol for the Galactic Center. Sirius is in the sky now after the Sunsets and it is worth visually connecting with this star and opening to directly receive the light energy beaming in from this area of the sky.
Right out of the Gate as we begin this New Gregorian Year with Mercury moving into
Aquarius drawing our attention to the important Aquarian themes of 2009 including Jupiter’s move into Aquarius on January 5 traveling through this area of the sky until mid-January 2010. Plus Mercury retrogrades at almost 8 Aquarius on January 11 near the North Node at 9 Aquarius and then conjuncts the Sun at Zero Aquarius on January 20 marking the beginning of a new Mercury Cycle that will last about 120 days.
During this time Mercury will conjunct Jupiter twice. This New Year’s day event is energizing a process of freedom oriented, innovative thinking and objective awareness that includes a cosmic overview BIG picture perspective intended to revolutionize current perceptions of reality. 2008 featured a similar Mercury retrograde process that began the revolution of expanded states of awareness as the old structures and systems collapsed and an Aquarius Rising President was elected. Hang onto your seats as its going to be a wild ride!!!
Jan 02, Friday. The Pisces Moon conjuncts Uranus (19 Pisces) twice this month (see Jan 29) further activating radical revolutionary Uranian events designed to altar the old limiting assemblage point or belief system that is contrary to our true divine nature. Today Moon conjuncts Uranus (20 Pisces) and is opposite Saturn (21 Virgo) radically energizing selfless service through mystical connection with the divine in ways that honor the sacred expression of the Earth.
When out of balance Pisces has difficulty knowing its own feelings and experience because it merges with and then becomes empathically attuned to those around them. This is why Pisces has a tendency to sacrifice who they are in service to others. Healthy Pisces must first learn to direct their compassionate energy towards themselves in healthy ways. This is a radical departure from the current cultural program that emphasizes personal sacrifice for others. When in balance these mystical dreamers serve the world through the power of their love, compassion and acceptance.
Jan 03, Saturday. The Moon moves into Aries energizing the mysteries of the defenders of the cosmic order and opening the first quarter Moon window that is exact tomorrow. (See Jan 04). Also today Venus is moving into Pisces until February 2. The divine feminine as represented by Venus in Pisces is in service to spirit through heart-felt compassion for all life and the desire for mystical union with the divine. Now more than ever this is the time to dream your biggest dreams.
There is a book and movie titled, The Never Ending Story about a land called Fantasia that
is being consumed by the Nothing. The Nothing or no-thing is taking over Fantasia because people have stop believing in this magical land. It is the task of the hero of Fantasia to find a human child who is willing to re-dream Fantasia by giving the princess of Fantasia a new name. Once someone, anyone, engages Fantasia with their thoughts and beliefs the Nothing vanishes and a New Fantasia is rebuilt from the fragments of the old. It is time to find the new names that will define the New Earth Star and the loving return of the compassionate Divine Feminine in service to all life. This is a big part of our process at this current Turning of the Ages and Venus in Pisces reminds us of the importance of our personal and collective dreaming in co-creating the emerging New Earth.
Jan 04, Sunday. Today marks the Earth’s annual closest approach to the Sun (perihelion), the source of light and life for our planet. (FYI on July 3 Earth is farthest from the Sun (aphelion) in its annual cycle.) It might be worthwhile to consciously attune to the Sun today and see what, if any, Solar Attunements are coming through.
The Aries First Quarter Moon (14 Aries) is a time for taking inspired action that furthers the
fulfillment of your intent and divine purpose. Aries as it expresses through the masculine principle is the Sacred Warrior archetype willing to protect the cosmic order of life. The Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet describes a powerful aspect of the Aries feminine expression because she is actively committed to upholding and maintaining the law of Maat (sacred cosmic law). In Egyptian cosmology Sekhmet is the daughter of Ra, the feminine eye of the Sun, sent to Earth by Ra to restore balance and order among the people. Sekhmet is derived from Sekhem, an ancient Egyptian word meaning “power”. Thus, Sekhmet (and Aries) carries the power to transform through action. The quote below describes the path of initiation in ancient Egyptian times when the one desiring initiation went before the priestesses of Sekhmet.
...the very first step taken when entering the path was to go before the priestesses of Sekhmet. Sekhmet priestesses were great clairvoyants and guardians of the path of karma and initiation. In order for the seeker to enter the temples for teachings, he or she must be deemed pure in intention, caring of and harmless to others, and ethically clear. The seeker must also reflect the humility needed for transcendence by being open and willing to be seen deeply by the priestesses. When an individual showed resistance, tried to hide, or was impure in intention, he or she would be given meditation and life assignments to work with for a given period of time. When that time elapsed, reassessment would occur. When the seeker was finally grateful to be seen and told where his or her ego patterns and karmas were in need of transformation and healing, and passed the "entry exams", so to speak, the initiations and higher teachings began. http://www.amorahquanyin.com/a_trinity.html
First it is helpful to consider the word initiation to understand this more fully. Initiation originates from two Latin words, in, into; and ire, to go; that suggest a beginning, or an entrance into something. In the quote above the entrance is into a deeper exploration of self. This suggests that the main question worth asking at this time has do with your personal path of initiation. Are you seeking a new path of initiation and if so are you ready to commit to it with your whole being?
Jan 05, Monday. The waxing Moon moves into Taurus transmitting the mysteries of receivership, beauty and intimacy. When we can truly receive the beauty of our personal self the journey of personal intimacy is well underway. The original Latin root of intimacy is intimare meaning "to make familiar with." Becoming familiar with ourselves, knowing and respecting who we are assists us in truly experiencing deep intimacy (or closeness) with another who is also willing to share who they truly are. The true art of intimacy extends to every level of being including physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. When we are connected on all these levels within ourselves then our sharing comes from deep personal intimacy. These next couple of days are great for deepening your own personal intimate connection with yourself and those you love?
Jupiter moves into Aquarius. It was the 19th of January 1997 when Jupiter last entered Aquarius and Jupiter will travel through the sign of Aquarius until the 17th of January 2010. Jupiter’s move into Aquarius expands the mysteries of innovative, unique, avant-garde, revolutionary experiences designed to maximize the evolution of consciousness over this next year. For all those who have planets, nodes or Angels in Aquarius this marks a time of expansive initiation into a deeper experience of the radical, revolutionary, innovative, uniqueness of the Aquarian realm designed to access the cosmic overview through events of extreme novelty that inspire freedom from the known. (See January 12)

http://www.crystalinks.com/magi.html
Jan 06, Tuesday. The feast of Epiphany honors the Magi and is also known as the "The Adoration of the Magi" or "The Manifestation of God" ending the twelve days of Christmas as calculated in traditional times. This is the celebration of the Three Kings, Three Wise Men or Three Magi: Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar that followed the star to Bethlehem and brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the Christ child.
January 6 was the original date celebrating the birth of Christ in the early Christian traditions and is still recognized and celebrated by the Eastern Christian Church. However, in the fourth century, the Western Christian Church adopted December 25 as the date of the Feast of Christ's birth giving rise to the tradition of the "12 Days of Christmas." The following quote gives an interesting view of how this time was celebrated…
On the evening before Three Kings, traditionally there were prayers, blessed dried herbs would be burnt and their aromatic smell would fill the house. Doorways would be sprinkled with holy water and the master of the house would write with chalk C + M + B and the year above the house and barn door and say: "Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar, behütet uns auch für dieses Jahr, vor Feuer und vor Wassergefahr." ("CMB, protect us again this year from the dangers of fire and water.") C + M + B has traditionally been translated with Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar, however, according to the Church it stands for "Christus Mansionem Benedictat" (Christ bless this home). http://www.serve.com/shea/germusa/3kings.htm
It is also interesting to note that the Magi were trained in the astrological mysteries of As Above, So Below and that is how they knew it was time to find the Light that had birthed into the world. Shamanic Astrology recognizes that all who are drawn to the As Above, So Below mysteries at this time in whatever ways are the returning Magi from ancient times here to assist with the Turning of the Ages. Also Magi is the root word for magic, imagine, and imagination. When we use our imagination to imagine Peace and Joy to all we are engaging the magic of the Magi. Therefore as the pleasure principle is being illuminated and transmitted by the waxing Taurus Moon on this night of the Adoration of the Magi it is a great time to invoke the Magi mysteries of beauty and pleasure.
Jan 07, Wednesday. The Moon occults the Pleiades (29 Taurus to 0 Gemini) visible in the United Kingdom around twilight, Norway, Sweden and Siberia. This is the first of 11 Moon occultations over the Pleiades this year. More to share about this in the months to come.
Then the Moon moves into Gemini and will be visible tonight approaching Aldebaran, the eye of the Bull. (see Jan 8) The Gemini Moon transmits the mysteries of the Heyokah, Coyote, Contrary taking us beyond the limits of our dualistic reality. The ancient Vedic text known as the Bhagavad Gita describes what happens when we learn acceptance of as stated below being content and unattached to outcome
Content with getting what arrives of itself
Passed beyond the pairs, free from envy,
Not attached to success nor failure,
Even acting, s/he is not bound.
S/He is to be recognized as eternally free
Who neither loathes nor craves;
For s/he that is freed from the pairs,
Is easily freed from conflict.
- The Bhagavad
Said another way… total acceptance of self and of all that life IS without judgment, or resistance, or a need to fix it or make it be different than what is liberates us from the limiting experience of duality including the concepts of good or bad, right or wrong, success or failure. This is the place of total freedom.
Jan 08, Thursday. Tonight the Out-of Bounds Moon is visible beyond Aldebaran. This star marks the eye of the Bull near the Galactic Edge and was known as the key to the Silver Gate where souls enter this realm. Currently, the alignment of the Solstices with the Milky Way, or Photon Band (see Jan 5) is activating and unlocking our DNA codes and intensifying our personal transformative processes creating new pathways and possibilities. The Moon passes by here once each month illuminating these mysteries.
The Earth is aligned now in such a way to receive the galactic radiations being beamed from Galactic Center and the Galactic Edge quickening our evolution, purifying and restructuring our world, changing the thresholds of vibration and experience, according to new programs of Light and Love available to us now. With the Moon transmitting from the Silver Gate near the Galactic Edge as it reaches its Northern Lunar Extreme, we get a sense of the importance of the light codes coming in from this star gate that are waking up our own light codes in ever greater waves of possibility.
Jan 09, Friday. The nearly Full Moon moves into Cancer reaching almost 27 degrees in declination or just over three degrees beyond the 23.5 degrees maximum declination of the Sun. When the Moon moves beyond the boundaries of the Sun at the Galactic edge it is reaching beyond the boundaries of ordinary reality and is transmitting the mysteries coming in from beyond the boundaries of our Galaxy while also illuminating the Galactic Cross where the Summer Solstice Sun now rises.
The Cancer mysteries are interested in creating a safe nurturing space for family, friends, clan and/or tribe. This is possible when we have first developed the ability to nurture ourselves with loving kindness, then we can extend healthy expressions of love and kindness towards others. Visually the Moon phases last for three days, so we see the Moon rising tonight, tomorrow and the following night. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds we may have coming to maturity or fruition, or the place where the fruits or gifts are received. The Moon then begins to wane this week representing the dissemination or integration of these gifts. Once each year the Moon is Full in Cancer bringing to light responsible nurturing of ourselves, our children, our children’s children and our beloved planet.
Jan 10, Saturday. The Cancer Full Moon (21 Cancer) is illuminating the mysteries of responsible nurturing while also releasing addictions to controlling outcome and the need to have others be a certain way according to our expectations. It can also help to remember that one of the best ways to support others and their needs is to give them the space to discover how to take care of their needs on their own. When we responsibly fulfill our own needs and desires then we can more easily and genuinely support others in doing the same.
Jan 11, Sunday. The Moon moves into Leo transmitting the mysteries of self-love as the single most important thing we can do to live a more joyous fulfilling life. When we make self-love the basis of our life experience then we can truly love others. When we give ourselves the gift of self love and self acceptance we no longer need to get love and acceptance from others. When we don’t need to get that from others then we usually find it naturally comes more easily from others in genuine authentic ways.
Mercury Stations Retrograde (8 Aquarius) until late January 31 or early Feb 1 depending on your time zone. This Mercury retrograde is energizing an outside the box process of freedom oriented, innovative thinking that includes a cosmic overview BIG picture perspective intended to revolutionize current perceptions of reality. This Mercury Retrograde is dancing with Jupiter and the North Node. This creates an expanded possibility of realizing that what we thought we knew may be more than we imagined. Meanwhile, here is another reminder to back up your computer and other data as technology is more sensitive during this time. Last year several people told me they lost everything they had on their hard drives during Mercury Retrograde and they deeply regretted not having a recent back-up of their hard drive.
Also today the Sun (21 Capricorn) trines retrograde Saturn (21 Virgo) still in the Still Point of the Saturn Station on New Year’s eve. Whenever an outer planet is trine the Sun it has either just stationed retrograde or is about to station direct and the outer planet seems to be visibly stopped in the sky. That is why trine energies are felt as primarily passive meditative points. When outer planets are trine the Sun it can feel like there is not much movement happening. However, when an outer planet is in square or opposite to the Sun they are moving quickly and notable events are more likely to occur in our middle world experience. The oppositions and trines always occur during the retrograde phase of the planet while the squares always occur when the planet is in direct motion.
Saturn governs the structures of reality and the wisdom we gain from knowing the Earth’s cosmology as it relates to the stars and planets as they circle the Earth and activate the latent light codes within our physical system. This is also out pictured in the fabric of our Earth through the many ancient astrophysical temples, petroglyph sites, standing stones and other cosmologically based sites aligned along the star grids of our great mother Earth. With intention and attention attuned to these grids we have the power to co-creatively construct new structures and systems of reality that operate in sacred harmony and resonance with all of life.
Jan 12, Monday. Jupiter will meet with the North Node, Chiron, Neptune and meets Mercury again when Mercury turns direct. The Aquarian theme of 2009 is expanding, stretching, altering and revolutionizing our perception of reality. This actually began last year when the North Node, Chiron and Neptune were so close together and manifested in part through the changes and shifts in our economic and political reality. Our collective thoughts are what create our reality. When a critical mass of people are focusing on greater conscious awareness based in love and peace and plenty for all a reality begins to emerge. It is more evident now than ever before that huge numbers of people are waking up to this understanding. The Great Above is reminding us that our destined task in 2009 is to continue to connect with a greater cosmic vision of living Heaven on Earth. The more we are in fear and holding onto the old reality the more challenging this year will be. The more we are loving and accepting and embracing the radical changes before us the more magically inspiring and fun this year will be.
Freedom is knowing that in every moment you have a choice.
Limitation is not exercising that choice. P’taah
Jan 13, Tuesday. The Moon moves into Virgo transmitting the ancient mysteries concerning the patterning of life, and the natural cycles and rhythms that describe what time it is in relationship to living in harmony with the unfolding pattern. Spider Woman weaves the web of life and teaches us how to co-weave with her in ways that support the fulfillment of our personal and collective divine design.
Jan 14, Wednesday. The Moon conjuncts Saturn (21 Virgo) and is opposite Uranus (20 Pisces) illuminating what is being restructured within the current web. Spider Woman is receiving wise council about what aspects of the web need reweaving. We can also tune in and receive information about how to co-weave our own web that includes caring for and honoring the Earth so we are living in greater harmony with the natural world and taking responsibility for living in a sacred way that includes sustainability for all life.
Jan 15, Thursday. The Moon moves into Libra this afternoon illuminating where we are in our experience of conscious equal partnership. Relationships mirror to us where we are in our personal growth process. It might help to ask yourself; Am I conscious of my interrelatedness to every aspect of creation? Am I engaging a conscious intimate relationship with myself? Am I willingly growing in this conscious awareness of myself and how I exist in relationship to the rest of life? Conscious awareness, conscious actions and conscious choices assist us in experiencing a deeper more conscious intimate relationship with ourselves and others.
Jan 16, Friday. Pluto is hanging out with the fixed star Spiculum (1 Capricorn) most of this month and remains within one to two degrees most of this entire year. Spiculum marks the tip of the arrow in the constellation of the Archer. According to Dr Eric Morse in his book The Living Stars…Spiculum is Latin for dart or point of an arrow or similar weapon…and a figure of great foreboding. (The opposite is also true and…) There can be a very real feel of companionship with the entire Universe and its Creator and remarkable ability to plunge deeply into the seas of philosophy and come up with joyous and meaningful answers through a very happy intuition. http://www.constellationsofwords.com/stars/Spiculum.html
Page Bryant’s book Starwalking says Spiculum “…is composed of two star clusters and three nebulas (M8, the Lagoon Nebula, M20 and M21). A nebula is concentrated area of star energy, a stellar vortex if you will. This kind of power energizes the full force of a person’s will power. Spiculum’s energy will be released by the Regulators just after the year 2000, and it will bring about a leap in human spiritual evolution. On an individual basis Spiculum’s influence will eventually help bring us to the point of self-realization.”
On September 11, 2001 at the time of the fall of the Twin Towers Mars was located near Spiculum. With Pluto, the Shamanic Initiator, located here this year is intended to transform our deepest fears into our greatest strengths. The alchemy can happen through dramatic external events that force us to surrender and die to what we believe ourselves to be or the alchemy can occur through willingness to embrace fear creating miraculous transformations beyond what we have ever imagined.
Jan 17, Saturday. The Libra Last Quarter Moon (28 Libra) is visible just beyond the fixed star Spica, in the constellation of the Virgin Priestess and is rising around mid-night. Spica is located in the Hand of the constellation of the Virgin Priestess and speaks to the wisdom of reaping what we sew especially in the area of how we are relating to ourselves and others. My youngest son has 29 degrees Libra rising and when he was 12 he came home from school and announced that he believed there is never any reason to mean to others even if you don’t like them or like what they are doing. I watched in wonder at his ability to disengage, without retaliation, from kids who were mean and abusive. He also always has many great caring friends who are drawn to his kind, caring ways. He has proven through his actions and the results of those actions that sewing kindness and caring, begets kindness and caring and these qualities are a great foundation for any relationship.
Jan 18, Sunday. The waning Moon moves into Scorpio illuminating the mysteries of alchemy and passion designed to create transformation and empowerment through the alignment of our personal will with Divine Will. A great Scorpio manual is the first half of the book Right Use of Will received by Ceanne DeRohan. The main message here is about the benefits of healing our emotional bodies where our personal Will is located. When we have healthy emotional bodies we also have a healthy connection to our Will and how our Will connects and works with Spirit or Divine Will. This includes healing all the ways we do not accept ourselves in any moment including how we often reject our ego.
Right Use of Will says;
Spiritual growth has been thought to require the death of the ego. This is not a true understanding. There is not a problem with ego. Denying the ego its right function has created disease in the ego and this disease is the problem. Death of the ego is not a necessary part of spiritual growth…Ego in fact is the part of you that recognizes yourself as you. The ego operates to protect your present level of ability to accept and express. Ego is as Divine as anything else. There is not a problem with ego if it sees itself as evolving with the rest of you. You cannot tell the difference between yourself and anything else without ego.
So in essence it is not death of the ego that is required but death of the judgments and misunderstandings we hold about the ego. When we can accept all of who we are while embracing our whole being (including our ego) as an evolving expression of the divine then deep and profound transformation is guaranteed.
Retrograde Mercury conjuncts Jupiter (3 Aquarius) further expanding our cosmic perspective and BIG picture overview of what is unfolding on the planet at this time. This is a great time to meditate or to engage in any practice that helps to expand your awareness and perspective. This window stays open until Mercury returns to conjunct Jupiter on February 23 at 11 Aquarius.
Jan 19, Monday. The Moon is visible in the early morning sky moving through the gateway stars known as Zuben Algenubi and Zuben Alshamali
marking the pans of the Scales that weigh the sufficient and insufficient price. In Egyptian cosmology this represented the weighing of the heart of the dead against the feather (truth) of Maat (Egyptian Goddess of Wisdom).
The ancient Chinese called this constellation Show Sing, "the Stars of Longevity", but later generations changed the name to Tien Ching, meaning "the Celestial Balance”. The appearance of this constellation at a certain time of year marked the time when the annual regulation of weights had to be made by Chinese law. The sacred books of India call this constellation Tula, meaning 'a balance' and shows a man bent on one knee, holding the scales aloft. In William Henry’s book, The Peacemaker and the New Key of Life Tula is defined as “the place of Peace”. Henry says, “The Key of Life is a secret teaching which enables the Children of Light to enter the Promised Land and the Promised Land is the biblical code for the ultimate human experience. At this Turning of the Ages we are being given the keys to once again enter the Promised Land.
The Sun moves into Aquarius where it remains until Feb 18 illuminating the mysteries of the freedom oriented revolutionary, and the seasonal energy when the seeds are breaking free of their outer casings. Thus, Aquarius dares to move into new territory, experiment with new ideas and innovative ways, and is often far ahead of its time in revolutionizing current thinking. This energy operates from a cosmic perspective shifting the current assemblage point through radical and often disruptive changes that are intended to liberate our current experiences into expanded states of objective awareness and insight.
Jan 20, Tuesday. Inaugration Day. Yay. The Sun conjuncts retrograde Mercury (O Aquarius) just before Mercury returns to 29 Capricorn. This marks revolutionary new beginning for the mysteries of cognition, communication and perception in the realm of the Aquarian Cosmic Overview and expanded states of consciousness. This seems fitting as the new President of the United States takes office with Mercury and Sun exactly conjunct Barack Obama’s natal Jupiter. It brings to mind the book Bothers of the Grape by Arnold Michael expressing an expansive Aquarian view of our individual and collective divine mission.
“Everyone comes into life with a divine mission particular to her or him and that mission is to awaken a particular quality of consciousness within. The ultimate destiny of us all is to unfold all the facets of the ‘philosopher’s stone,’ which means all the attributes of our inherent wholeness and perfection.”
Arnold Michael also founded the Madonna Ministry with his wife Kathryn in 1970. Bothers of the Grape is a spiritual novel that helps to answer the question; “What can I, as an individual do to assist in bringing peace to a troubled world?” http://www.MadonnaMinistry.org This is reminiscent of John F Kennedy’s inaugural speech when he says: And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. More of his speech is below and speaks to the ideals of the Aquarian energies now so heightened this year. Interestingly, Barack Obama is an Aquarius Rising President with Jupiter at Zero Degrees Aquarius, precisely where the Sun and Mercury are today… Here is an excerpt from John F. Kennedy’s speech given January 20, 1961.

…Let both sides seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors. Together let us explore the stars, conquer the deserts, eradicate disease, tap the ocean depths, and encourage the arts and commerce. Let both sides unite to heed in all corners of the earth the command of Isaiah—to "undo the heavy burdens ... and to let the oppressed go free."
In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility—I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it—and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.
My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man. Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own.

Jan 21, Wednesday. The Moon moved into Sagittarius yesterday and is visible beyond Antares tonight activating the key to the Golden Gate and transmitting the mysteries associated with quest for Truth and Meaning. If you haven’t had a chance to see the Zeitgeist movies this is great way to engage a middle world quest for truth beyond normally accepted reality.
Zeitgeist, produced by Peter Joseph, was created as a nonprofit filmiac expression to inspire people to start looking at the world from a more critical perspective and to understand that very often things are not what the population at large thinks they are.
Peter Joseph said…It is my hope that people will not take what is said in the film as the truth, but find out for themselves, for truth is not told, it is realized.

Additionally, one of the best ways to change the effect of the deceptions that have been perpetrated on humanity is to work from the principles of Physics especially Quantum Mechanics as described in the movie “What the Bleep do we Know?” Our thoughts and feelings attract experiences that match the energy we are vibrating with as a result of where we are focusing our attention. Abraham, as channeled by Esther Hicks, reminds us of the power of our thoughts and feelings to create our reality.
It's not your work to make anything happen. It's your work to dream it and let it happen. Law of Attraction will make it happen. In your joy, you create something, and then you maintain your vibrational harmony with it, and the Universe must find a way to bring it about. That's the promise of Law of Attraction.

Jan 22, Thursday. The Moon crosses Galactic Center and moves into Capricorn where it conjuncts Pluto (1 Capricorn). Over the next few years the Moon conjunctions with Pluto will be illuminating a time when we can look more deeply at our personal and collective “doing addiction”. Pluto operates at the most basic cellular level facilitating changes that transform our physical experience similar to the process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
We have been operating under a cultural belief system that has determined our value and worth by how much we produce, achieve and acquire. Having and acquiring is also an addiction that tends to fuel the kind of doing that does not necessarily nourish and support the essence of our soul’s true expression. Dying to this addictive need to “have” and “do” can be terrifying, as so much of our personal identity may be linked to these aspects. However, too much “doing” is robbing us from the true magic of life and a direct connection with the Earth.
Healthy Doing is heart and soul centered and supports the flourishing of not only ourselves but all life. Questions that may help to reframe an unhealthy “doing” and “having” experience are: What do I really need to “have” to live a loving, abundant and joyful life? Am I really doing what I want to do - creatively expressing what I want to express? Is my doing supporting me and who I am?
Mars (20 Capricorn) sextiles Uranus (20 Pisces) and Venus conjuncts Uranus (20 Pisces). This is near the same degree Venus and Uranus joined up in late March last year. Looking back to what was happening around then can give us clues about this Timing now. Last year Venus was on her way to her underworld initiation. She has now risen as an evening star and is integrating her shamanic death and rebirth process, encountering the unpredictable revolutionary energies of Uranus again, though this time on the integration side of her initiation experience. Mars in sextile to Uranus is also encountering the unpredictable, unknowable, unplannable, unexpected events that are designed to shift the current assemblage point of the practical divine masculine. Both Venus and Mars are being inspired to dream the dream onward through a powerful connection to the imaginal realms where creative expression originates.
Jan 23, Friday. Moon conjuncts Pluto (2 Capricorn) at 26.5 degrees south declination a full three degrees beyond the maximum southern declination of the Sun at Winter Solstice. Once again the Moon is reaching beyond the confines of ordinary reality and encountering the Shamanic Initiator Pluto who is hanging out near the Galactic Cross all this year. Pluto’s job is bring our deepest fears to the light of our awareness so they can be transformed. It is important to name our fears. Contrary to popular thinking naming our fears acts to disempower the dark forces as suggested in the quote below though more for the purpose of transforming those fears so we are no longer at the affect of them. When our fears remain unrecognized they influence the choices we make and the way we conduct our lives. When our fears are acknowledged and name them they are no longer the unconsciously influencing our choices and we are freed to live healthy, happy, joy filled lives.
"Once you have courage to look upon evil, seeing it for what it is and naming it by its true name, it is powerless against you, and you can destroy it." Gwydion speaking from The Book Of Three by Lloyd Alexander
Jan 24, Saturday. Mars (21 Capricorn) Trines Saturn (21 Virgo), Venus (21 Pisces) is opposite Saturn (21 Virgo), Venus sextiles Mars and the Moon conjuncts Mars. This combination of factors describe an opportunity to consciously create a world structured in greater compassion and caring for each and every living thing on this Earth and beyond. The Dali Lama says;
"If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion." Compassion for ourselves and doing what we love help us to successfully co-create the New Earth in harmony and balance with all life.
Buddha agreed saying, “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the Key to Success. If you love what you are doing you will be successful.”
Jan 25, Sunday. Depending on your time zone late tonight or early tomorrow morning is the Aquarius New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse (6 Aquarius 30) also conjunct Jupiter with Neptune and Chiron near by. This is adding to the expansive energies opening this two week eclipse cauldron that will close with the Leo Super Full Moon Lunar Elcipse on February 9. New Moons occur about every twenty-nine and half days when the Moon aligns with the Sun becoming invisible to us from the Earth’s perspective. During an annular eclipse the Moon moves between the Earth and the Sun with only a small ring of light still visible around the outer disk of the Moon as it crosses in front of the Sun. Unlike a total eclipse the light of the Sun is only muted and the stars do not appear during an Annular Eclipse. This eclipse will be visible off the coast of Africa, the Indian Ocean and into Sumatra and Borneo.
Shamanic Astrology emphasizes the direct visual experience of the planetary cycles as the most important way to have our own direct connection with these mysteries. The ancients tracked Eclipses and felt they were some of the most powerful indicators of unexpected and unusual change. Eclipses are not only Harbingers of Change but also are considered to be a Super New Moon supercharging what is being seeded as the dark Moon temporarily diminishes the light of the Sun.
When an Eclipse occurs in Aquarius “events of extreme novelty” are being activated. Last February marked the last Solar Eclipse that included Chiron, Neptune, and retrograde Mercury. This year we add Jupiter to last year’s line up further expanding the energies of this eclipse. Feb 4, 1962 was the last time Jupiter was involved in this eclipse cycle plus the 1962 eclipse included Saturn and Mars, as well as retrograde Venus and Mercury. Considering the novel events and changes that took place in the 60’s following the that 1962 eclipse and the novel events of 2008 with the crashing economic systems and the election of an Aquarian president who has just taken office five days before, it is clear we are not living in ordinary times and we are about to go through more extraordinary events.
Eclipses open portals from the Great Above. These doorways are opportunities to consciously connect with what is hidden within in ourselves. Essentially, the Moon is occulting the Sun or covering it. The Sun is hidden for several minutes and then begins to reappear or to reveal itself. This imagery speaks to a conscious choice to surrender into the great void or great unknown. Out of this chaos a new world is birthed. Through the accelerating or quickening of the eclipse energies this new world grows and takes form at an amazing rate of speed, emerging more and more fully into the light of our awareness with each passing day. What is hidden shall be revealed, just as the Moon covers the Sun, hiding it for a space of time and then moves on uncovering what has been hidden.
This Aquarius Annular Solar Eclipse is seeding and accelerating revolutionary changes that will continue to express for many months to come creating the changes necessary for each individual to freely and authentically express who they truly are. The best way to participate with this timing is to let go of all possible attachments to outcome, surrender to the evolutionary changes and trust that by doing so, we will find ourselves exactly where we would want to be if we could fully imagine where it is we are going. Remember this will take many months and even years to unfold but the evolutionary changes that will revolutionize our lives are being seeded today.

Jan 26, Monday. In China today is the Chinese New Year of the Earth Ox or Brown Cow or perhaps the Buffalo in as it shows up in North America begins today. http://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/2009.htm http://www.squidoo.com/2009YearOfTheOx
Retrograde Mercury conjunct Mars (23 Capricorn) very near the sign and degree of the powerful Jupiter Venus conjunction Dec 1, 2008. The coming together of the transformational messenger Mercury with the divine masculine Mars in the domain of Capricorn speaks to the messages coming from the Circle of Grandmothers to assist Mars in engaging in the evolution of the Cancer mysteries. This is because Mars began a 26- month cycle or journey in December 2007 to integrate a new expression of Cancer (a nurturing parental archetype) within the masculine principle. The Circle of Grandmothers know how to guide Mars in the fulfillment of this quest as expressed in the Grandmothers’ declaration to assist humanity and the Earth at this time.

Jan 27, Tuesday. Moon conjuncts Neptune (23 Aquarius) and moves into Pisces transmitting the light codes that are activating further conscious innovation around the mysteries of radical compassion through genuine acceptance of what IS bringing about transformation without attachment to the outcome. In his book Prescriptions For Happiness Ken Keyes says the second prescription is Accepting What is for Now. He describes this process as an inner surrender that comes from conscious choice based on insight rather than fear.
This is best when it is not a forced outer surrender but rather a clear choice to be with what IS in this moment remembering everything changes and every now is different from the previous one. When we are relaxed and at ease it is much easier to rewire our neural net and the patterns of dis-ease that we might be experiencing. Accepting what IS and loving who we are just as we are right now is the most radically compassionate action we can take and this facilitates amazing miracles, often way beyond whatever we can imagine now.
Jan 28, Wednesday. Retrograde Mercury (21 Capricorn) has slowed way down and is currently in a close sextile to Uranus (21 Pisces) and trine to Saturn (21 Virgo) from now until about Feb 6. Mercury stations direct on January 31 or February 1 depending on your time zone. This suggests a greater possibility of unusual messages designed to further revolutionize our rapidly changing experience of reality.
Jan 29, Thursday. Today marks the second conjunction of the Moon with Uranus (21 Pisces) this month illuminating and transmitting the energy of the radical revolutionary change agent. On the heels of the Aquarian Solar Eclipse the Moon with Uranus reminds us that change drives each moment through time. When we really know and accept this, then we are finally fully experiencing the NOW. Being in the NOW is a radical place to live as it revolutionizes our life experience. Ekhart Tolle reminds us of the challenge of being identified with the mind and thus being trapped in Time and outside of a true NOW experience.
To be indentified with your mind is to be trapped in time: the compulsion to live almost exclusively through memory and anticipation. This creates an endless preoccupation with past and future and an unwillingness to honor and acknowledge the present moment and allow it to be. The compulsion arises because the past gives you an identity and the future holds the promise of salvation, of fulfillment in whatever form. Both are illusions. ~Ekhart Tolle The Power of Now
Moving out of past and future and taking a radical leap into the NOW releases our attachments to what has been and our anticipation of what is yet to be. Being here NOW is the only place, the only experience, the only truth that liberates our limited mind-based realities constructed in the illusions of past and future. Surrendering attachments to what we think life should be and Acceptance of what it IS in this moment are two primary keys to experience the liberation of living in the NOW reality.
Jan 30, Friday. Moon conjuncts Venus at the 7th gate retrieving her Crown. The waxing
Moon meets with Venus (27 Pisces) for the seventh time since she rose as an evening star last July. This marks the passage of Venus the seventh gate of return also known as the “Gate of Authority,” where Venus retrieves her Crown, symbolizing the reclaiming of her authority as Queen of Heaven and Earth and her reconnection with Source. This means Venus, as the radiant and shining Queen of Heaven has reached the return threshold where she is now fully whole and complete.
For those born in an eight year (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, 104, etc.) turning one of these ages between Jan 20, 2006 to Aug 24, 2007, this is your personal Venus return and a great time to ceremonially enact the reclamation of these energies.
Jan 31, Saturday. Mercury (22 Capricorn) stations direct late tonight or early tomorrow morning depending on your time zone pausing as it shifts direction in the in-between place where great magic and alchemy are more easily accessed. Mercury will pass beyond the degrees of the retrograde station on Feb 21 when it reaches 7 Aquarius 42 marking Mercury’s move into new territory and the gathering of new information to be integrated into our collective experience.
