2010 May Celestial Timings

The Great Mother is a reflection of our humanity and capabilities. Regardless of age, gender, or biological capability, we are all creators, nourishers, nurturers, and Divine Mother with baby Krishnatransformers. The Mother archetype is both physical and spiritual: She is flesh and spirit, giving birth to both progeny and ideas, to external action and internal transformation. Her image has been corrupted, feared, worshipped and misunderstood for centuries. Can we reclaim this image as an aspect of both our earthly and spiritual lives? …simply by engaging in the everyday acts of motherhood - comforting a friend, nursing a baby, preparing a meal or writing an essay - we invoke the Mother within us all. Susan Slaviero

On this Mother’s Day
I am honoring my Mother, Merilyn Helen Judd Massey, who died August 18, 1998. Here is the story of her transition...The picture below is me with my Mom in the summer of 1979. I was 23 years old and my Mom was 45.
Cayelin with her Mom in 1979

I dreamed about my Mom recently. When I saw her she looked young and happy and vibrant. It was fascinating for me to see her and know instantly I was dreaming. I even exclaimed to myself and whoever might be listening; “Oh My God!!! I am dreaming!” I was in a living room full of people when my Mom walked. So with this realization of being in a dream state I did my best to tell everyone in the room that we were all in a dream. Everyone looked at me like I was I crazy. I quickly decided was wasting my time with this news so I decided to find my Mom and talk to her but she had vanished. I felt mildly disappointed at that point because I really wanted to talk to her. However, I also felt elated as I woke up from this dream to realize I had experienced the gift of a lucid dream.

Earlier in the evening of the night I had this lucid dream I had been having a conversation about lucid dreaming with some of the participants at our April Night Sky Shamanic Astrology event. We were all sharing funny and interesting lucid dream experiences. For those who might not know, lucid dreams occur when a person realizes they are dreaming. Often this means that they can then consciously interact with the dream or direct it toward a desired outcome.

I have had other lucid dreaming experiences but this one seemed different? I felt like my Mom was showing up to alert me to the fact that I was dreaming because when I saw her I instantly knew I was not in an ordinary waking reality. I also sense that she was also reminding me to be more aware of my waking reality and the interaction with my dreaming reality. It would be so like her to do that!

The other thing for me is that I have often dreamed about my Mom over the years since she died, but this was the first time I actually remembered I was dreaming. Often in these dreams I have known something was up because I would be worried about her home being gone and wondering where she would live and why I hadn’t seen in her awhile? It was as if I had some awareness that seeing in her in a dream didn’t match my waking reality but I wasn’t conscious of the difference. This most recent dream was different because I instantly knew I was dreaming and it also helped me to feel more connected to my Mom than I have in a long time, and that is a great gift for me. Thanks Mom!!! I love you and send you much appreciation in this month that celebrates Mother’s.

A footnote to this process is that I shared this lucid dream experience with the Shamanic Astrology group. The next night someone in the group had a lucid dream and was very excited to share it with everyone the next day. Reflecting on that experience I realize I wasn’t able to get anyone in my dream to acknowledge we were dreaming but then the next day someone did become aware of their own dream state. So I am sharing this as a way to inspire your own lucid dreaming experiences and if you have any please send me an email and let me know! Here is to our collective awakening within the dream!!!

Plus I am also sending love and appreciation to the archetypal Great Mother and to all Moms everywhere in this month of celebrating Mothers. May we all dream the dream of a New Earth that is guided by the pure love and nurturing compassion of the Divine Mother!!!

Note: I have been extra sensitive to technological challenges during Mercury Retrograde in recent times and this month is no different. I am apologizing in advance for a very limited editing job on the May Timings due to circumstances beyond my control. Hopefully the essence of what I am sharing still shines through…and I am asking for forgiveness in advance for any glaring errors that I missed.

Stars worth noting in the Night Sky this Month
This month the Milky Way is seen lying flat around the horizon so not clearly visible unless you look up to the Northeast highest part in Cygnus the Swan. However this position of the Milky Way gives us the sense of the Plane of the Galaxy when looking Northeast toward Cygnus Galactic Center is to your right.

Also prominent this month is the constellation of the Virgin Priestess (a.k.a. Virgo) containing seven main stars. The most visible star in this group is the bright bluish white star Spica, meaning "spike of grain." Higher in the sky and a bit to the right of Spica is the star Denebola which forms the lion's tail in the constellation also known as Leo. If you follow a direct line from Spica to the upper left you will see the bright red star Arcturus. These three stars Arcturus, Denebola, and Spica form what is sometimes called the Spring Triangle best viewed from April to June. Plus, we have the perfect 30-60-90 degree triangle formed by Arcturus, Spica and Regulus (the heart of the lion). Look East South East to spot both triangles. (See August 2007 Archives for more about Arcturus, Spica and Regulus triangle.)
Daily May Timings

Earth in Violet FlameMay 01, Saturday. Today is celebrated as May Day or Beltane (see May 4 and 5) and it is also the 1684 May First Ascension Day of Saint Germain who brought us the alchemical gift of the Violet Flame. This is a great time to remember the power of invoking the Violet Flame for transmuting all energies that no longer serve our divine destiny. The Violet Flame is a gift to humanity to assist us during these transformative times. Saint Germain has said, "The use of the violet consuming flame is more valuable to you and to all mankind than all the wealth, all the gold and all the jewels of this planet." (The Voice of the I AM January 1941 p.20)

As we begin the month of May that honors the immense compassion of the Great Mother archetype it is timely to consider the recent move of Chiron into Pisces on April 19, 2010. Chiron will only be in Pisces for a short time before stationing retrograde on June 5, 2010 at 00 Pisces 59, returning to Aquarius on July 20, 2010, stationing direct on November 6 at 26 Aquarius 04 and returning to Pisces on July 20, 2011.

ChironChiron is the master teacher and healer who receives a wound that cannot be healed in a middle world reality. Pisces asks “How can I help and heal?” Chiron’s move into Pisces speaks of the compassion that ultimately facilitated the healing transformation of the immortal Chiron. (See October 31, 2009 Archives and May 7 and 8)

Galactic Cross

The Galactic Cross where the Plane of the Galaxy and the Plane of the Ecliptic intersect.

May 02, Sunday. The Moon moves into Capricorn passing over the Galactic Cross near Galactic Center passing into the constellation of the Archer and conjuncts Pluto. Moon also passes 2 degrees SE of Ceres (a dwarf planet and an expression of the Great Nurturing Mother) at 4 Capricorn.

Hunab KuThe Moon moves over Galactic Center or Hunab Ku as it was known to the Mayans in the early morning hours. The Mayans considered Hunab Ku to be the ultimate creator and conscious principle that organizes all matter in the manifest creation. They believed this was the area of the sky that was constantly gives birth to new stars and planets as well as being the portal or gateway to other galaxies beyond ours. They knew that everything that happens in our Galaxy comes from the center through cyclical energy waves or bursts. Interestingly, Scientists are now concluding that Galactic Center is not only consuming huge amounts of matter but it is also giving birth to stars and other celestial phenomena as well. This is a great time to be with the Moon now transmitting the light codes coming from our Galactic core. http://www.aztlan.net/rumblings_center_galaxy.htm

The Moon with Pluto and Ceres is amplifying the possibility of nurturing acceptance of all that we are feeling including our angry, hurt, vengeful, confused, and less than lovable places. The Great Mother does not judge but rather holds a safe nurturing compassionate space for all her children to realize their greatest divine expression. (see May 29)

Venus and Aldebaran

May 03, Monday. Retrograde Mercury (5 Taurus) is trine retrograde Pluto (5 Capricorn) and Venus (10 Gemini) is passing 6 degrees North of Aldebaran, the eye of the Bull. This Mercury retrograde aspect to Pluto is a great time to courageously investigate the source of our fears. This is an aspect that is less confrontational than say Mercury conjunct, square or opposed Pluto. This would indicate that when calling on the activation energized by the Moon conjunction with Pluto yesterday along with the deepening of the mind that retrograde Mercury is engaging it is a potent time to reprogram or repattern your personal thinking process with the intent of empowering your personal thoughts and thinking patterns in ways that support the fulfillment of your life’s purpose. Venus in Gemini with Aldebaran also calls our attention to the patterns of thinking that either limit or liberate our ability to act wisely in the world of form.

May 04, Tuesday. Mars (14 Leo) reaches quadrature or is square the Sun (14 Taurus) very near the exact Solar Beltane Cross-Quarter with Mars near the Lammas Cross-Quarter when the Sun reaches 15 Leo around August 7. The Celts and other indigenous tribes at similar latitudes have celebrated the beginning of Summer at the Beltane Cross-Quarter and viewed the Summer Solstice as Mid-Summer. From this perspective the cross-quarter dates mark an in-between time ending and beginning the Celtic seasons. It is similar to the time of day just before Sunrise or just after Sunset ending and beginning day or night. At the in-between point it is not yet fully day or fully night but a time when the veils are thin and access to other worldly realms is easier. The Beltane cross-quarter focuses on the pleasure and beauty of life, the Lammas cross-quarter focuses on the abundance of life and having our personal needs met. Tomorrow the Moon will reach the Imbolc cross-quarter focusing on an expanded cosmic overview and exploration around increasing conscious awareness of our divine purpose.

The Sun rising through the seasons

May 05, Wednesday. a.k.a. Cinco de Mayo, a day celebrated in remembrance of Mexico’s 1862 historic battle for freedom. Today is also the exact Astrological Solar Beltane when the Sun crosses 15 Taurus marking the exact half way point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. (See the image above) This is an extraordinary timing that the ancient Celts celebrated as an in-between time more easily stepping into a magical co-creative time that is connect with beauty, pleasure and the enjoyable abundance of life. When we are celebrating life with joy and gratitude we are connected to source and able to receive the generous provisions that fulfill all our needs and desires. The more genuinely grateful we are the more available this abundance is for us because we are open to receiving it.

Today also marks the Last Quarter Moon at 15 Aquarius 33. This means the Moon is located in the area of the sky where the Sun rises at the cross-quarter known as Imbolc or Candlemas around February 4. Tonight the Moon is rising after midnight and will be visible in the morning sky. This last quarter Moon is integrating the wisdom and experience gained from the journey so far suggesting this is a time for contemplating the big picture overview from the unique and inspired perspective of having released all the ‘shoulds’ and other limiting viewpoints that distract us from being present in the moment.

May 06, Thursday. The Moon conjuncts Neptune (28 Aquarius) at 11:37 pm Pacific Time. This timing is calling into our dreamtime experience the Aquarian ideals of living freedom beyond the rules of outside authorities and rules that seek to control, limit and restrict the human experience. Unique, innovative and ahead of its time the Aquarian energies break down old restrictive systems for the purpose of breaking through to new experiences of expanded states of awareness. Yesterday, today and tomorrow are great for doing something completely unexpected, outside your comfort zone, in ways that help further shake up old routines and patterns in ways that are intended to lead to experiences of living greater freedom of being.

May 07, Friday. The Moon moves into Pisces and conjuncts Chiron. Also visible in the evening sky is the sextile between Venus (15 Gemini) and Mars (15 Leo). This means they are 60 degrees from one another and over the next three months or so we will see them moving closer and closer until they reach their exact evening sky conjunction (or symbolic scared marriage) in August.

This is the first Moon conjunction with Chiron since Chiron entered Pisces on April 19. Each time the Moon meets with Chiron it acts as an amplifier and trigger for deepening our experience of the Chiron in Pisces mysteries. The power of kindness and compassion that assists in allowing for what IS in the moment is affirmed by Eckhart Tolle and Osho who both speak of the transformative power of awareness in the present moment as a way of healing the separating pain we feel when we are not fully present in the Now or the Wholeness of life. Wholeness is the recognition of and connection with the hologram or whole of life and how every part is inter-related to every other part and every part is important to the overall whole or holos.

Hologram comes from the Greek word holos, meaning all, entire, total. Holos is all the 'parts' contained within the whole and these parts also represent the whole system. For example, iridology operates from the principle that the eye is a map for every part of the body. However, each part is also necessary to make up the greater whole. An eye by itself is not the same as a whole human body. And one human being is not the same as the entire Earth. All the parts are necessary to experience the greater whole because ultimately the Whole is greater than the sum of the parts and yet every part is needed to complete the Whole. That is why it is essential to have compassion for all of our parts…even the parts we judge as wrong or bad or problematic.

http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/leiahologram.jpg

Through the gift of compassion and acceptance, transformational healing occurs and that is the key to restoring restores wholeness. Simply being able to do this with anyone part that is troubling us, affects all the other parts. So start with an easy one and give yourself the gift of compassion for whatever it is you are feeling and experiencing. It is interesting to note that the concept of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts can be traced back at least as far as Aristotle’s Metaphysics. (See May 1 and 8) Picture above is hologram of Princess Leia in the First Stars.

May 08, Saturday. Moon is visible approaching Jupiter (25 Pisces) in the early morning sky and will align with Jupiter at 5:32 am. Jupiter in Pisces nearly conjunct Uranus at 29 Pisces is expanding the principle of love and compassion in new and unusual ways. Love is the most powerful healing and transforming force in all of creation and the key to co-creating a healthy new world that is beneficial and supportive to all. Embodying and expressing love, the love of self, the love of life, and the love of others, is the key to shifting the vibrational frequency of Earth and of those who live here including ourselves.

“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love: that is the soul of genius.” Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

White Buffalo calf woman May 09, Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day. Today the Moon is about 6 degrees NNW of Jupiter (25 Pisces) 6 at 5:32 am Pacific Time visible in the morning sky before Sunrise. The Moon then conjuncts Uranus (29 Pisces) at 1:12 pm Pacific time. Uranus is still opposite retrograde Saturn (28 Virgo) so the Moon is also opposite Saturn at 10:58 am. (See May 8) See bigger image here

Then the Moon moves into Aries at 2:29 pm Pacific Time energizing the mysteries of the defenders of the cosmic order and the Gods and Goddesses of Victorious Triumph. In the ancient Vedic scriptures, known as the Bhagavad Gita, the great warrior Arjuna questions the rightness of going into battle when he realizes if he fights millions will die and if he does not fight millions will die. Plus adding to his internal struggle is the reality of members of his own family on both sides of the conflict. Through a long process of inquiry Arjuna discovers the answer to his dilemma is to fully embrace his dharma as a warrior without attachment My first born in 1982to the outcome or the fruits of his actions. The true warrior acts to protect their family and community and does not seek battle for the sake of battle, or glory for the sake of glory. Healthy Aries seeks to put their energy into a noble cause worth fighting for and in that way they fulfill their dharma. A true warrior promotes peace when possible but willingly goes into battle to protect and fight for what they believe is just and true.

It is also noteworthy to consider this fierce aspect of the Mother who fights to protect and defend her children in the same way the mother bear protects her cubs. On this day set aside to celebrate Mothers with Venus still in her Aries overtone and the Moon moving into the seasonal sign of Aries it is a good time to notice the protective mother energy within you. What you are willing to defend and protect in order to create a safe space for the children, including your own inner child? Are you willing to show up and fight for a fair and just world that honors the equal rights of everyone and everything?

The Bull of Heaven

May 10, Monday. Venus is approaching the Horns of the Bull and will be zodiacally conjunct El Nath on May 13. May 16 the crescent Moon meets with Venus. This is the region of the Sky where Venus will again transit the Sun in 2012. The first Venus transit was in June of 2004 beginning an eight year global initiation and awakening of humanity beyond anything we have previously experienced. The 2012 Venus Transit completes this eight year initiatory window.

Over the next few days Venus is visible traveling through the Horns of the Bull in the constellation also known as Taurus. May 16 Venus and the Moon meet near the tips of the Horns of the Bull at the third gate where Inanna retrieves her personal power. Noting where Venus is in the sky now and tuning into these star patterns is a great way to prepare for the upcoming 2012 very rare Venus transit. These stars will not be visible in 2012 during the Venus transit of the Sun because the Sun is also there at that time. That is why taking time to notice the star patterns now helps to attune you to the incoming light codes from this area of the sky that are adding to this timing and the 2012 timing. Ancient cultures looked to this area of the sky for special Celestial Events to let them know when the ages were shifting as described below.

The Great Bull of Heaven is linked with the end of each of the four ages; (the bull it is said) withdraws one of its hooves from the ground. When all are free the foundations of the world will be destroyed. Shiva's 'perfect horn' is the crescent Moon. The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is 'aleph’, which means "bull", and is the symbol of the Moon in its first week and also the name of the sign of the zodiac where the Moon's mansions begin (ELIT p.178). Many letters of the alphabet, hieroglyphs and ideograms are simultaneously associated with the phases of the Moon and with the bull's horns, the latter often compared with the crescent Moon.

6,500 years ago the ancients knew we were at a Turning of an Age when they saw the Crescent Moon near the Horns of the Bull at the Spring Equinox. We are now one quarter turn later of the 26,000 year wheel later when the Summer Solstice is located where the Spring Equinox was 6,500 years ago. Clearly it is no accident that we have chosen to be here on Earth at this time as witness to this grand cosmic unfolding. Our conscious participation, appreciation and awareness of these events helps determine what is now seeking manifestation through what we are imagining and energizing in our hearts. As Carl Jung reminded us it is essential as conscious participants with this significant turning of the great galactic wheel that we “dream the dream onward.”

May 11, Tuesday. Mercury Stations direct (2 Taurus 40) in the morning sky though not easily visible for those in the Northern Hemisphere. It will be a great showing of Mercury in the Southern Hemisphere starting about May 19 until about June 9.

Mercury symbolizes our mind, our style of thinking and communication, or said another way…through what archetypal lens we perceive our reality. This station direct begins a new Mercury cycle in the archetypal realm of Taurus and includes the art of aesthetics, beauty, intimacy, pleasure, enjoyment, and receivership. This is the lens that Mercury will explore for the next 120 days. Mercury is technically a morning star now though not necessarily visible unless you are in the Southern Hemisphere around May 19 to June 9. (see May 12)

This is a time to savor and enjoy the process of thinking that is grounded in the senses. Taking time to be with whatever thoughts and sensations that are coming up now, especially those around art, creativity, intimacy, and pleasure is the way to get the most out of this Mercury Cycle.

May 12, Wednesday. Moon is 7.4 degrees NNW of Mercury (3 Taurus) now 19 degrees from the Sun in the morning sky further activating the potency of the Mercury station yesterday. When Mercury is a morning star this is the purest expression of the current archetype and is thought to have the qualities of the Greek God Apollo who was depicted as a youthful handsome, beardless God connected to prophecy and oracles, music, intellectual pursuits, healing, and the Sun. This phase of the Mercury cycle is about the one-pointed focus of the archetype finding a clear expression. This is a time for engaging oracles and prophetic energies as well as one pointed focus with both communication and learning. This phase will last until Mercury reaches 15 degrees from the Sun on June 15. (See May 11)

Also today Mars reaches 17 Leo 52 very near its station retrograde degree of 19 Leo 41 last December. This means Mars is making its last exact alignment with the fixed star Alterf at the mouth of the Lion. According to Richard Hinkley Allen in Star Names, Their Lore and Meaning Alterf translates as “’glance’ i.e. of the lion’s eye”, though on modern star maps this star is found in the open mouth of the Lion. The Lion in the Great Above is linked to the Sphinx in the Great Below and Lions are symbolic guardians of the doorways, or portals, to the treasures of knowledge and understanding within the Hall of Records we all carry within us. Mars crossed this area of the sky last December and again in January and is making his final pass in this eight month journey through Leo that ends June 7. Mars conjunct Alterf is accessing a portal or doorway to the Hall of Records and knowledge that assists us in remembering our divine origins and our divine destiny culminating in the Mars conjunction with Regulus in early June.

May 13, Thursday. The exact Sun Moon conjunction (23 Taurus) is just 7 degrees from the Pleiades at 6:04 pm Pacific Time. The visible tiny crescent is most likely to appear just past the Pleiades inside the Sacred Hoop sometime tomorrow night in the western time zones. Healthy Taurus supports our lived experience of the art of receivership, especially in the context of Grace (defined as a blessing freely bestowed on a person by God, or Great Spirit, or a Higher Power, etc.) for no apparent reason.

Grace is an archetypal energy we usually associate with the Celestial World but having a healthy relationship with Taurus and the mysteries of receivership are essential in receiving the gift of Grace when it shows up. Grace is not a reward for good behavior, or something that is earned, bargained for, or won. Grace is realized when we are open to receive it. It helps to practice acceptance of self, of others and of life in general. It is important to trust your own experience and know you are a vital expression of the life force current and that you deserve to fully receive with love and gratitude the gifts of life and grace being offered you. This New Moon in Taurus emphasizes the art of receivership that comes when we slow down and intentionally enjoy life by opening to receive experiences of pleasure while savoring each moment.

May 14, Friday. The Moon (7 Gemini) will be about 13 degrees from the Sun at 7:30 pm Pacific Time so a tiny crescent may be visible after Sunset in this time zone. The visible crescent was celebrated as the New Moon in many ancient traditions. The Moon passed within .77 degrees SE of the Pleiades creating an occultation though it was only 8 degrees from the Sun earlier today so it was not visible. This suggests that the a portal is already opening for the May 20 Sun conjunction with Pleiades at the Chichen Itza Zenith point. (see May 20) The timing of this is now aligned with one of the cross-checks the Mayans used to determine when we were actually experiencing a 26,000 year shift of the ages. Paying attention to the messages and insights coming through the Pleiadian Stargate now over the next few days is highly recommended.

May 15

Crescent Moon approaching Venus between the Horns of the Bull

May 15, Saturday. The still very small crescent Moon is visible approaching Venus (25 Gemini) tonight activating the third gate Inanna (Venus) passes through when she retrieves her golden belt symbolizing right use of her personal power or third chakra issues. This link retells the mythic story of the Inanna an ancient Sumarian tale describing the astronomical cycle of Venus beginning with the rise of Venus as a morning star in the East before Sunrise. Then she makes 7 conjunctions with the Moon (going through the 7 gates into the underworld) and releases seven vestments linked to the 7 chakras. She is killed and resurrected representing the 60 to 90 days when Venus travels with Sun. Then she rises as an evening star (in the current cycle that was this last February) and begins to make 7 conjunctions with the Moon retrieving her vestments. Every eight years the Sumarians ceremonially re-enacted the Venus cycle through the Inanna telling when Venus rose as a morning star near the Spring Equinox. The current Venus cycle is the same cycle the Sumerians would celebrate. Everyone is born into one of 5 Venus cycles. The next one begins November 4, 2010 when Venus will again rise as a morning star.

May 16

Crecent Moon Past Venus and at the foot of the Twins.

May 16, Sunday. The third gate Venus Moon (25 Gemini) conjunction near the Horns of the Bull is exact at 3:17 am Pacific Time and marks a rare Moon occultation over Venus that is not visible in the western time zones. The Moon will have moved beyond Venus by sunset tonight and is crossing the Galactic Edge (moving into Cancer) at 10:45 am Pacific Time. This is an important Venus Moon occultation as it is occurring within a few degrees of where the next Venus transit over the Sun will happen in June of 2012. Noting where Venus is now gives you an idea of where Venus and the Sun will be in two years when Venus will again make a rare transit over the Sun.

This is a reminder that anyone born in an eight year (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, 104 etc) from April 3, 2009 to November 3, 2010 is in their personal 8 year synodic Venus return so this timing is an especially important ceremonial gateway to engage with the intent to strengthen your personal reclamation of these energies.

Inanna or Venus is retrieving her third chakra vestment; sometimes depicted as a golden3rd chakra waist belt or golden ring of power. This means Venus is retrieving a healthy relationship to her personal power and the ways she engages it. Healthy use of personal power comes from strong inner direction and is not interested in power over others or in giving power away, but rather healthy use of personal power is directed toward fulfilling life purpose within the context of a person’s unique divine design. Retrieval of this vestment means Venus has now regained the ability to clearly discern the purpose of her life and make healthy decisions in fulfilling that for herself. This is a time to ceremonially connect with a healthy 3rd chakra experience expressed in a fulfilling emotional life, having a strong sense of purpose, healthy belonging, and an ability to creatively accomplish life tasks in ways that increase enjoyment.

In regard to the activation of a Moon occultation over Venus Bernadette Brady tells us it is different than an eclipse because…there is no gradual fade in and out...rather the star (or planet) appears to catch the Moon...because the stars appear to move faster than Moon across the sky...so the Moon does not blot out the star but rather the star catches the Moon and penetrates her, impregnating her with the seeds of its mythology. The Moon becomes filled with its message and, according to Plato in the Timaeus, this message is then transferred to the earth through its lunar phases... it would seem that these are moments when a doorway is opened to us, a doorway that leads to the deeper, more chaotic but highly creative part of our own soul.

May 17, Monday. Evening star Venus (26 Gemini) is square morning star Jupiter (26 Pisces) and the Sun (26 Taurus) is sextile Jupiter (26 Pisces). The Sun sextile with Jupiter means Jupiter is still many weeks away from its station retrograde happening on July 23 at 3 Aries. Note: May 17 is the day the Sun crosses the zenith at Teotihuacan in New Mexico creating a day of no shadows at that latitude. (See May 20)

As Venus journey’s through the Horns of the Bull she is also approaching zodiacal alignment with the fixed Star Polaris (28 Gemini) in the constellation of Ursa Minor. Plus Jupiter is also coming into exact square with Polaris and the Sun is about 32 days from reaching zodiacal alignment with this star. Polaris is not near the ecliptic or the path the planets follow so Venus is not visible near Polaris but rather is in the same longitudinal line. Polaris is a star that provides guidance in many ways including helping sailors to navigate.

Polaris (from the Latin, Stella Polaris meaning Pole Star) is currently where the North Star of Earth is located meaning the North Pole of the Earth is pointed at this star. Not only that Polaris is the only star that does not move from the Earth’s perspective but rather all other stars and planets appear to be turning around it. polestar map

Over 26,000 years different stars mark north. For example, 13,000 years ago the star marking north was Vega in the constellation of Lyra. In 13,000 more years Vega again will mark North for Earth based observers. Meanwhile it was 26,000 years ago when Polaris last marked the North Point.

To our eyes Polaris appears to be motionless at the center of the field of circumpolar stars, a "still point in the turning world". All the other stars appear to circle around Polaris. But as early as 320 BCE the Greeks has realized that Polaris did not mark the pole exactly. Until then many people had believed that the heavenly Pole was absolutely and eternally fixed. Polaris has long been moving nearer the North Celestial Pole as it is still doing now. It will be closest to that position around 2100 AD. Because the earth wobbles on its axis like a slowly spinning top, the Pole Star once was Thuban, the third star from the end of the tail of Draco. And in a little more that 5000 years from now, Alderamin, the brightest star in the constellation Cepheus, the King, will be the Pole Star.

Polaris is a portal or pathway to the starry realms and is the primary guiding star for our current time. Venus passes the zodiacal alignment with Polaris every 26 months amplifying this access point to the mysteries of the cosmos. This portal will be most active from today until Venus moves into Cancer May 19.

polaris

To locate Polaris step outside and look toward the North. When you find the Big Dipper follow a direct line from the two stars marking the outer rim of the pan moving away from the top of the pan.

May 18, Tuesday. Venus (27 Gemini) squares retrograde Saturn (27 Virgo) and trines Neptune (27 Gemini) and the Sun (27 Taurus) trines Saturn (27 Virgo) signaling the direct station of Saturn on May 30. The Moon moves into Leo and crosses the Beehive cluster approaching Mars in the evening sky still high overhead after Sunset. Praesepe is Latin for “Beehive” also known as M-44. This is a cluster of stars that has the appearance of a beehive or swarm of stars. There are at least 40 stars in the Beehive that are visible to the naked eye under very dark skies though they appear more like a cloudy patch about one and half degrees in width.

Beehive

Mars passed by this cluster three times due to its retrograde phase and has now moved on to the constellation of the Lion. Tonight the Moon draws our attention to this area of the sky that was often linked with predicting the weather. If the Beehive was not visible at night the ancients believed it meant a violent storm was on its way. It was also used to predict the winds from the south. The brightness of the Moon may dim this cluster but it is worth noting so that in a few nights perhaps you can see the Beehive.

Venus (visible in the evening sky) will pass the Beehive in mid-June but tonight is still near the horns of the Bull and squaring Saturn also visible in the evening sky. Tonight it will be possible to see a square as Venus and Saturn are 90 degrees from each other. This dynamic aspect calls our attention to what is working and what is not working for the divine feminine as she creatively (Gemini) engages the causes she feels most committed to further (Aries overtone).

May 19, Wednesday. Sun (28 Taurus) squares Neptune (28 Aquarius), Venus (29 Gemini) squares Uranus (29 Pisces) just before Venus moves into Cancer crossing the Galactic Cross at the Galactic Edge. Sun (29Taurus01) is sextile Uranus (29Pisces01) featuring unpredictable events for the purpose of liberating limiting beliefs through unexpected change. This is a time when Uranus is moving with purpose in a clear direction and is not slowing down to station retrograde until July 5.

Venus has reached the center point of the Sacred Hoop and is crossing the Solstice Solar Gate after its exact square to Uranus. This suggests unusual events designed to expand our awareness of what is possible while also energizing multi-dimensional and extraordinary experiences that awaken our perception beyond ordinary reality. Venus travels through the Cancer domain until June 13. The archetypal leading edge of the feminine principle expressing through Cancer is that of the Great Mother. In her current Aries Overtone Venus is seeking to answer the question of her Aries incarnation as it is now expressing through the Cancer archetype of the Great Mother. The Aries Goddess is a fiercely wild Amazon warrior now being called to find new ways to defend and protect her family, her tribe, and the Earth.

May 20, Thursday. The nearly First Quarter Moon passes Mars (21 Leo) and then reaches it’s exact First Quarter phase at 29 Leo visible about 4 degrees SSW of Regulus, the heart of the lion. That means the Moon is visible near Regulus overhead about the time the Sun is setting. Regulus is one of the four royal stars and is the star that lies closest to the ecliptic so it is often occulted by the Moon. This is not a time of a Moon occultation over Regulus however the Moon’s passage by Regulus during the ‘no shadow’ days is highly auspicious as Regulus is 90 degrees from the Pleiades or one quarter turn in the sky. The Pleiades are not visible now because the Sun is with them but Regulus and the Moon are commanding the night sky until about mid-night. Plus, the Moon with Regulus amplifies the light codes coming from this Royal Star, watcher of the North and symbol for Archangel Raphael.

Howard Reynolds a facilitator of Mayan journeys says…

The Mayans believe that we first must be conscious of our connections to the Stars. We are children of the Milky Way and our Greater Lighted Self travels through the Heavens. It is a reclaiming and remembering of our Galactic heritage that will expand our perceptions to include All That We Are. Each person acts as a dynamic fulcrum stretching and opening to be the Divine Conduit between Heaven and Earth. It is only when we can embody the Mother and the Father within that we become whole and can move forward to do our Soul's work.

The ancient Mayans were attuned to many levels of tracking time through their various calendars and pyramids. The Pyramid of Kukulcan (the serpent or snake) at Chichen Itza was built to track not only solstices and equinoxes but the time when the Sun would conjunct or oppose the Pleiades, known as Tzab or rattle of the Snake, on the Solar Zenith Day of No Shadows. By calibrating the movement of the Pleiades on the zenith at mid-night or the opposite point now occurring in November the Mayans knew when the Sun was conjunct the Pleiades in May.

sun zenith

The date of the Sun Zenith passage occurs on the same day each year at the different latitudes where this can happen. For example the zenith-passage date at Teotihuacan is May 17 (this is a seasonal alignment that doesn't shift with precession or if it does shift it takes thousands of years.). This means the Sun with the Pleiades at the zenith occurred in that location early in the 1800’s. At Chichen Itza the zenith passage is May 20th and is currently aligned with the Pleiades. This is the cross-check that lets us know we are indeed at the turning of a 26,000 year cycle.

So not only does Kukulcan have a shadow-serpent that is illuminated on the northern part of the pyramid at the equinoxes we also have the rattle of the snake, Tzab, aligning with Kukulcan on May 20th at the zenith with the Sun and the Sun illuminates the Pleiadian stargate at the zenith point suggesting this is an important doorway that is now open.

Furthermore, Jose Diaz Bolio, a noted Mayan researcher, has found that the Mayan Yucateca symbol for the rattlesnake has a three-dot marking in a circle near the rattle and is the symbol for the Sun or solar Ahau. The symbol combines the Sun with the Pleiades or Tzab and seems to be an indicator of the importance of the Sun/Pleiades/Zenith alignment. This then is further confirmation about the importance of this alignment on the day of no shadows and represents a current time culmination of a major intention built into this pyramidal seasonal and precessional time clock. This information is adapted from John Major Jenkins’ work and more information is available in his books. In 2012 there will also be a Solar Eclipse on this May 20 day. So this is the time to tune in and to ceremonially honor this remarkable alignment in preparation for the 2012 eclipse acceleration and activation.

May 21, Friday. The Sun entered Gemini late last night or early this morning depending on your time zone and travels through this zone of the sky (inside the Sacred Hoop) for the next couple of months. On June 22nd the Sun reaches the Galactic Cross and the Solstice point of zero Cancer at 4:30 am Pacific Time. The Moon enters Virgo today at 5:14 am Pacific and is visible approaching Saturn tonight. Tomorrow afternoon at 4:14 pm Pacific time the Moon meets with Saturn.

The Sun in Gemini illuminates the mysteries of the coyote trickster who operates beyond rational, linear, logic, seeing the humor in life and fully enjoying the cosmic joke. This youthful, playful energy works its magic through crazy wisdom. Crazy wisdom is transformative wisdom. It is uncontrived, natural, flowing, spontaneous. Crazy wisdom operates beyond duality, beyond right or wrong, good or bad, beyond hope and fear, beyond yes or no because it has transcended the limits of dualistic reality. Crazy Wisdom then uses contradiction to “alchemically transform any lingering resistance to waking up into pristine play.” Steve Goodman, professor of Asian studies

From now until June 22nd we have an opportunity to engage the mysteries of ‘crazy wisdom’ that help us to naturally co-create a New Earth that is free from the fear that drives our current reality and is based in the wisdom of fun, creativity, alchemy, and magic.

May 22, Saturday. Venus (2 Cancer) reaches its greatest Northern declination this year of 25 degrees about a degree and half beyond the boundaries of the Sun’s greatest northern declination. This means Venus is making her greatest reach beyond the boundaries of the Sun in this Venus cycle. This tends to a wilder more unpredictable expression of the divine feminine operating outside the constraints of where the Sun can travel suggesting she is accessing possibilities beyond ordinary reality.

The Moon passes 7.5 degrees SSW of Saturn (27 Virgo) before moving into Libra at 7:50 pm Pacific Time visible at the Autumnal Equinox point tonight. This is the last time the Moon will amplify and deepen the Saturn in Virgo intent for about 27 more years. Saturn in Virgo is intended to help us reweave a new web or a new structure for our current reality that reveres and honors all life as sacred, and honors the health and beauty of our beautiful Earth, our home. The current web of reality has been woven out of deceit and lies, power and greed, and a general disrespect for much of life other than the elite few who profit at the expense of the Earth and all others who live here. Saturn’s passage through Virgo has brought our attention to what is NOT working and calls for us to focus on weaving or creating a new reality based in reverence for all life and sustainability that benefits the Earth. Saturn does not require perfection. In fact, “perfection is insufficient to our liberation”. The key is waking up to what doesn’t work and then making different choices in ways that help to create a healthier world.

Everybody has to look at his or her own footprint and do the best they can. It's not about being perfect, it's about doing something. If we're looking for perfection, we'll never, ever get there. ~ Laurie David

May 23, Sunday. Venus (4 Cancer) reaches opposition to Pluto (4 Capricorn). Traveling through the Cancer domain this fierce warrior is encountering the energy of the Great Mother and the reminder that to be an effective defender and protector of the cosmic order she must include healthy forms of self-nurturing and self-care that are essential for a genuine, authentic self-expression. The opposition to Pluto brings to light any fears or shadow issues that stand in her way for the purpose of transforming them into her strength and into her medicine.

May 24, Monday. The Moon passes within 3 degrees of Spica before moving into Scorpio at 11:17 pm Pacific time. The Moon with Spica is visible in the western time zones. Spica is a bright blue star that symbolizes the sacred feminine as priestess or goddess, marking the hand of the Virgin Priestess (a.k.a. Virgo – see difference between signs and constellations). The waxing Moon passing by Spica suggests it is time to honor the gifts of conscious, loving, sacred partnership with ourselves first, and then others. This is enhanced by being willing to acknowledge and heal any sense of lingering separation from source. It may be useful to tune in and consider how to further consciously energize a more active partnership with source while also gathering and embracing the parts of ourselves that we may have lost or forgotten for a time.

May 25, Tuesday. Tonight the Scorpio Moon is visible approaching the two main stars of the Scales, Zuben Algenubi and Zuben Alshamali. Tomorrow night the Moon will be visible beyond these two stars. The Scorpio Mysteries are occult mysteries meaning they had to become hidden or covered in order to survive in a world that mostly fears the potency of magical life force. These seasonal energies overlaying the constellation of the Scales suggest it is time to bring these mysteries back into balance in the world of form. It might be helpful to ask…What holds you back from passionately embracing and experiencing the fullest essence of life force energy in every moment? What fears keep you from acting upon our inspiration and heart’s desire? How can you embrace these fears for the purpose of transforming them through inspired action and moving beyond the fear filled edges in ways that support the mysteries of beneficial magic and manifestation to move through you? Can you forgive yourself for having these fears?

A Course in Miracles says, “There can be no form of suffering that fails to hide an unforgiving thought. Nor can there be a form of pain which forgiveness cannot heal.”

May 26, Wednesday. Happy 20th birthday to my youngest son, Jeremy (pictured below) who just so happens to be in a synodic Mercury return this birthday. This means that Mercury is nearly exactly in the same area of the sky and the same distance Jeremy James Brentfrom the Sun as it was when he was born. This takes place every 6 and 7 years and at age 20, 40, 60 with the most exact return occurring around age 46 and 92. Mercury has 22 cycles or retrograde processes before it returns to its original position and then it may return closely for two years in a row, though one return is closer to the birthday than the other. This is due to the motion of Mercury from the Earth’s perspective. The details of how to work with Mercury cycle are re-emerging through the research of the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School having been mostly lost except for what has been preserved in the myths and stories of Hermes and other mythic tellings.

Mercury reaches 25 degrees from the Sun or the greatest elongation in the morning sky in the current Mercury cycle that began on May 11 when Mercury stationed direct. This is the phase of the Mercury cycle we refer to as the Apollo phase. It is the expression of Mercury that is most one-pointed and directly focused on expressing the archetype of the sign that Mercury was in when it began its cycle. This Mercury overtone is Taurus emphasizing the sensuality of the mind and the ability to enjoy and savor the process of perception and communication. Mercury moves beyond the degree of its retrograde station on May 28th.

May 27, Thursday. The Sagittarius Full Moon (6 Sagittarius 33) is just about three degrees away from Antares, the heart of the Scorpion and passes about 2 degrees NNW of this fixed star. (Note: the Sagittarius New Moon on December 5 is at 13 Sagittarius three degrees past Antares)This Full Moon is illuminating the quest for truth, meaning and enlightenment that is ultimately in Service to Spirit.

The search for personal truth and sense of meaning is being further illuminated by this Full Moon and brings to our awareness the correspondence between what we believe is true and what we actually experience in objective reality. Thomas Aquinas stated it this way: “A judgment is said to be true when it conforms to the external reality.” The evolution of what we believe to be true occurs as your external reality changes and no longer supports the beliefs we once thought were true.

This Full Moon is increasing the energy of Antares one of the four royal stars of ancient times. Antares has been linked with success and good fortune, as well as its shadow side of danger and malevolence. It is up to us to choose how we engage this potential for great power that is intended to be used wisely with Integrity and Heart. If Antares is being accessed as a way to gain power over others, then ultimately, these energies will backfire and destroy those who misuse this power.

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa (1486-1535), an influential renaissance writer, described Antares as the 13th star that was called the Heart of the Scorpion. When planets were within 6 degrees of this star its energy was enhanced by the planet. In this case the Full Moon is amplifying and transmitting the energy of Antares, the life force energy of the heart. Antares also resonates with the stone Amethyst and the plant saffron so this is a great time to work with them as their energy is also amplified and enhanced. Agrippa further describes Antares:

"Under the Heart of Scorpio (Antares) they made the image of a man armed, and with a coat of mail, or the figure of a scorpion; it giveth understanding and memory, it maketh a good colour, and aideth against evil spirits, and driveth them away, and bindeth them." Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk. II, Chapter 47, (Tyson ed.) pages 395-6.

May 28, Friday. Mercury moves beyond the degree of its retrograde station today. (See May 26) Uranus entered Aries late yesterday or early this morning depending on your time zone. This year just prior to the Jupiter Uranus conjunction at zero Aries around the time of the March 30 Libra Full Moon with Saturn there was the first ever high-energy collision test at the large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. This project was started about 20 years ago and is coming to fruition with the Jupiter Uranus conjunction. Jupiter and Uranus together are typically connected to scientific discoveries, especially when they are in Aries. Scientists are suggesting that humanity now has the ability to look deeper inside matter than has ever before been possible before, creating new insights into creation, and understanding of how we fit into the greater cosmic scheme, not to mention the possibilities for new creative life changing innovations. (More on the Collider experiments)

At the time Uranus enters zero Aries it is also still in an opposition to Saturn with the last exact opposition at zero Libra on July 26, 2010. Jupiter will also enter Aries on June 5 and is traveling near Uranus for many weeks. 83 years ago Uranus and Jupiter were together at the Zero Aries point. It was March 31, 1927 when Uranus entered Aries on the same day Cesar Chavez the United Farm Workers Activist was born and June 6, 1927 Jupiter entered Aries shortly after Charles Lindberg made his first Atlantic Solo Air Crossing landing in Paris, France on May 21, 1927. Also that year marked two major earthquakes with one in Nan-Shan, China that killed 200,000 people and the other in Palestine. This is just a hint of some of the major unexpected changes and breakthroughs possible during the time of this Jupiter Uranus conjunction in early Aries. Uranus Jupiter conjunctions are also typically initiators of revolutionary events like the French and American revolutions.

Venus will conjunct the South Node (12 Cancer) exact tomorrow. This is a time for connecting with the gifts of the past that can help us move into our bright new future with courage and wisdom. The Cancer mysteries are connected to healthy forgiving loving parental energy. What do we still need to forgive in our past so we can move freely toward our divine destiny?

May 29, Saturday. The Moon is again passing the Galactic Cross near Galactic Center catching up to Ceres (2 Capricorn) again and Pluto (4 Capricorn). This alignment of Pluto, Moon and Ceres near Galactic Center and the passage of these Celestial Bodies through the constellation of the Archer is a reminder that the Archer points directly at the center of our Galaxy.

In Jay Weidner and Vincent Bridges book The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye – Alchemy and the End of Time they speak about the galactic super wave or the galactic energy bursts that emerge from Galactic Center at certain time intervals. They say; “The galactic superwave, composed of superhot cosmic-ray particles traveling at close to the speed of light, would appear from Earth as a brilliant blue-white spot of light – about the size of Mars – in Sagittarius (the constellation we refer to as the Archer that is now overlaid with the sign or season of Capricorn), surrounded by a slightly larger and less bright halo. This source, perhaps as much as a thousand times brighter than any star, would be visible even in daylight”. http://www.diagnosis2012.co.uk/5.htm

Myths from around the world are encoded with astronomical information about planetary cycles, disasters, and other shifts in the heavens such as Zeus (Jupiter) overthrowing his father (Saturn) describing when Jupiter catches up to Saturn every 20 years, or the story of Inanna’s descent into the underworld describing the cycle of Venus and the story of Sekhmet (the eye or Ra, the Sun God) scorching the Earth with her fury. Interestingly, there is also a Hopi legend that speaks of the Blue Star Spirit or Blue Star Kachina that might also be describing the galactic pulse or superwave coming from the core of our galaxy in regular intervals at least every 26,000 years. http://www.etheric.com/LaViolette/Disinformation.html

We are going through the End of Time, as we know it and entering the Beginning of a New Time in ways that we haven’t yet imagined. Tuning into the Moon’s location tonight and meditating on the process of self-forgiveness - including forgiving ourselves for any fear we might have about this ending time – is a great way to take positive action toward embracing whatever fears may emerge around what might feel like apocalyptic endings and beginnings.

I forgive myself for fearing the end of my world as I know it. I forgive myself for being attached to life expressing in the ways I am imaging it should be... and therefore limiting myself to this vision rather than being open to a more magnificent world than I have yet imagined.

May 30, Sunday. Saturn stations direct at 27 Virgo 50 accessing the still point that allows for new structural realities to emerge that are in greater alignment with the sacred nature of life and the importance of our relationship with Mother Earth. It is easily understood in Virgo’s realm that reverence for the sacred expression of the Earth is vital for our continued survival.

The Virgo mysteries are the keepers of this knowledge including the natural cycles of Earth and Sky. The patterning of life, the weaving of the web, these are the mysteries of Spider woman. The ancient skywatchers were the priest~esses trained in the knowledge of the sacred timings and when to perform the special ceremonies that kept life in balance. This is a great time to notice if you feel attuned and in balance with the changing seasons, planetary cycles, Moon cycles, the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly cycles, and the many cycles within cycles that affect our lives. When we are attuned and in harmony with these cycles we are living in harmony with life.

May 31, Monday. Neptune stations retrograde at 28 Aquarius 42 and remains retrograde until Nov 6 or 7 when it stations direct at 25 Aquarius 55. If you have natal planets or angles between 25 and 29 degrees of the fixed signs (or signs of Self Interest including Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius and Leo) then you are on the leading edge of this Neptune process. Navigating Neptune is often having to navigate the realms of confusion, identity crisis and having no idea where you’re going or what the next step is. This is about navigating the unknown and that means you can’t know what is going to happen before it happens.

Therefore, this is a time for dreaming and visioning and giving the incoming visions space and recognition without necessarily acting upon them until you feel strong inner guidance that may still be seemingly irrational from a middle world perspective. Trusting your inner knowing is the key to successfully navigating a Neptune cycle. That also means if you aren’t experiencing a connection to inner guidance then it is best to wait until that shifts. This also applies to projects already in motion. Neptune is often a time for creating the space for quiet reflection while releasing attachments to specific pictures or outcomes and allowing for the possibility that something even more amazing than you were considering could emerge when you let go and trust the process.

The Sacred Hoop of Stars is setting this time of year though Venus will be visible between the Horns of the Bull. The main stars of the Hoop are Castor and Pollux, Procyon, Sirius, Rigel, the Pleiades and Capella. At the center of this Hoop is the Galactic Edge where the plane of the galaxy and the plane of the Solar system intersect forming the Galactic Cross where the June Solstice Sun currently rises. The Sacred Hoop is visible in the Northern hemisphere from November to April with the middle months being the best time to view it. Betelguese, Rigel and Orion's Belt are also visible inside the Hoop. See the January 2010 archives for details.

Transcendence through Self-Forgiveness
by Simeon Chiron Nartoomid

Self-forgiveness is the very foundation of our higher-dimensional Temple of Love. We can think of self-forgiveness as learning to accept ourselves fully just as we are right here and now.

Self-forgiveness is the only forgiveness there is really. God-Spirit-Source never holds anything against us. Anything we may hold against others is really about what we hold against ourselves as well. Once we learn how to access who we really are at will -- our true essence -- we can then operate in an awareness that allows us to see the conditioning that leads to the need for forgiveness in the long run. If we can actualize this state of awareness often enough, then we can step increasingly out of the need for forgiveness altogether...

...A key point to understand on this journey of self-forgiveness is that the perfection we seek is not to be found in being without limitations or flaws so much as it is... ( read entire article )
