Never has there been a more important time to learn the art of sitting in council with yourself and others. Joining our hearts with the heart of the Earth and each other, listening to our heart wisdom and heart knowing is the only true guidance we count on at this time.

Heart of MaryTime, events and knowledge continue to accelerate. This means our minds cannot keep pace with the events and information coming in now. Ultimately the mind cannot be relied upon for successful navigation through the seeming chaos. It is time to rely more on our intuition and heart knowing that can respond instantly without the need to understand what is happening through the process of logic or reason. When we are living in our hearts, and acting from our heart wisdom, then we spontaneously are making choices that further the fulfillment of our divine destiny.

There is also a great benefit that comes from being attuned to the natural cycles and rhythms of the Earth and Sky. This connects us with the phenomenon known as entrainment so we can easily move with the inevitable and rapidly accelerating changes we are already experiencing. The massive earthquake that occurred in Haiti this week (January 12, 2010) created a monumental heart opening for the planet. The pain, suffering, and tragic loss it created opened our hearts and shifted the planet, pushing it into the heart space that it will be now operating from. These beautiful and giving souls who agreed at their soul levels to be a part of this experience, have served this planet in ways unseen for a very long time. As it was time at many of their soul levels to depart, they agreed to depart in a way that would serve the planet and take it to its new and higher level.

Haiti will become a very sacred space, as it already has, and this event will be remembered for a very long time. It was a part of our very new beginning, and a part that will change the vibration and direction of our new world as well. These brave, unbelievably loving and precious souls, have given to this planet more than we could ever know. They have assisted in shifting the planet into its very new way of being that involves coming from the heart, and the honor and reverence I feel for them and the many other souls involved, goes beyond words.


Stars and Constellations Highlights
The Sacred Hoop of Stars is high in the sky after Sunset and is marked by the stars Castor and Pollux, Procyon, Sirius, Rigel, the Pleiades and Capella. At the center of this Hoop is the Galactic Edge where the plane of the galaxy and the plane of the Solar system intersect forming the Galactic Cross where the June Solstice Sun currently rises. The Sacred Hoop is visible in the Northern hemisphere from November to April with the middle months being the best time to view it. Betelguese, Rigel and Orion's Belt are also visible inside the Hoop. See the January 2010 archives for details.

Our brightest fixed star is Sirius (magnitude -1.46) lighting up the winter skies and is also marking the outer edge of the Sacred Hoop.

Capella is located in the constellation of Auriga and is one of the main stars that mark the outer rim of the Sacred Hoop. Auriga, the charioteer, is an imagery associated with this constellation thought to have originated with the Babylonians. Capella (magnitude of 0.08) is the 6th brightest star in our night sky.

Feb Stars

Canis Major, the Great Dog, is visible in the northern hemisphere from December through March. This star group can be seen in the southern hemisphere between November and April. This constellation represents the larger of Orion's two hunting dogs who accompany him as he hunts Lepus, the rabbit. Canis Major is the home of Sirius, the Dog Star, the brightest star in our night sky. At -1.46 magnitude Sirius dominates the winter skies not only marking the outer edge of the Sacred Hoop but is also one of the three stars along with Procyon and Beleguese forming the equilateral triangle known as Heaven’s Gate or the location in the sky many cultures have seen as the entry point into this dimension of experience. Sirius can be easily located by drawing a straight line through the three belt stars in the constellation Orion.

Lepus, the Rabbit, as it was known to the Greeks, is being hunted by Orion’s dogs Canis Major and Canis Minor. In February Lepus is under Orion and to the west or right of dogs. It is located just below Orion and west of Canis Major and Minor. See image above.

The dove was sent out ahead of the ship Argo by the Argonauts to assist navigation through the narrow passage at the mouth of the Black Sea. The dove was also sent by Noah from his ark to find land and returned carrying an olive branch in its beak.

Look for the Zodiacal Light about an hour or two after Zodiacal Lightsunset on clear moonless nights this month and next. The zodiacal light is a faint glow seen in the night sky near where the Sun sets along the ecliptic (path the planets follow) or zodiacal constellations. If there is bright Moonlight or light pollution you won’t see it.

Venus is traveling with the Sun until February 22.
Mars is still big and bright as it continues it’s retrograde having reached opposition to the Sun on January 29/30 at 10 Leo. Mars is passing about 3 degrees North of the Beehive Cluster on February 4.

Feb 01, Monday. This month begins with Mercury (19 Capricorn) nearly conjunct the North Node (21 Capricorn) with their exact conjunction on February 3 when Mercury also passes beyond the degree of its retrograde station last December. This passage of Mercury over the North Node helps facilitate additional signs or messages in the world of form letting us know how well we are embracing our personal and collective destiny.

This is a good time to ask for a personal message or signs designed to let you know you are on track. This is especially helpful when we consider we are in unchartered territory having left the old matrix, but still in the process of co-creating the new one. Indeed, the old paradigm is still disintegrating and the new one is still unfamiliar, so the messages or sign posts that let us know we are on track are more important than ever. Plus, this is an important time in the annual solar cycle of the year for receiving additional guidance, divination, and insights intended to help inform the fulfillment of your personal destiny.

Feb 02, Tuesday. Today is Groundhog Day also traditionally celebrated as Candlemas or Imbolc (see Feb 4). In ancient times this festival of lights was when the old ceremonial fires were extinguished, and new fires were lit. This was done as a way to celebrate the return of the light symbolized by the lengthening days. This is also the time when the Winter Solstice seeds are beginning to stir, the outer casings beginning to open and in some locations Saturn Moonwinter is loosening its hold. Part of the divination of this time originated with the hedgehog (in Europe), and what later became the groundhog (because the New World did NOT have hedgehogs), and how much winter was left if the hedgehog or groundhog saw its own shadow that day.

Today the Moon moves into Libra passing 7.5 degrees SSW of retrograde Saturn (4 Libra). The Moon will have moved beyond Saturn tonight as the conjunction is taking place at 12:48 pm Pacific time. Saturn is rising around 9:48 pm local time and the Moon is rising about 10:18 pm depending on your horizon line.

The monthly council meetings of Saturn and the Moon amplify and accelerate the restructuring of our relationship to ourselves, to life and to each other. Saturn represents growth and maturation meaning it is time for humanity to grow into new ways of relating that are healthy, respectful and supportive. The Libra mysteries are founded in equality or equal rights for everyone. Equality in this case means everyone has the right to be treated with equal respect and caring and that no one is more or less important than anyone else.

Healthy Libra recognizes that all the places on the wheel of life are equally important in experiencing wholeness. This is the archetypal energy most associated with “sitting in council” where everyone has an equal opportunity to listen and be heard. For example, this means that politicians, doctors, and CEO’s are not more important than teachers, construction workers, or farmers. The profit based economic system, of money over people and the planet, is what has been driving the old crumbling system.

Saturn moving through Libra this next couple of years in square to Pluto and opposite Uranus is radically shifting these old ways of relating. Libra is also about justice and balance so the social injustices of the current system are hitting the wall of limitation meaning the old forms are struggling to survive and eventually must shift because they can no longer be sustained. Once each month we are reminded of the importance of sitting in council with all our personal parts and taking time to observe, listen and consider the messages coming from all our parts, especially those that may have not had an equally valued voice.

Feb 03, Wednesday. The Moon is visible passing 3.3 degrees SW of Spica (24 Libra) tonight. It is interesting that Spica, the star that marks the hand of the Virgin Priestess where she holds the scale of justice, is also now located in the seasonal sign of Libra. This divine feminine symbol of justice will be joined by Saturn next year suggesting whatever lingering inequities of the old that have not been transformed in 2010 will encounter the Goddess of Justice in 2011.

Also today Mercury is passing beyond the degree of its retrograde station, moving into new territory, having gone more deeply into the Capricorn mysteries exploring ways to build structures that support and enhance sustainable ways of living with the Earth.

Feb 04, Thursday. The astrological cross-quarter is exact today as the Sun reaches 15 Aquarius or the half-way point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. In many traditions this was considered a time for continued cleansing and purifying of old energies while creating space for new, revolutionary, vital, life force energy further lighting the path of universal love.

Retrograde Mars (7 Leo) has returned to the Beehive Cluster (see February 25 and animated link of Mars Retrograde) and will pass by here again in mid-April. Plus the Moon moves into Scorpio suggesting an even deeper dive into the mysteries of genuine self-love and mastery. This is a reminder to practice daily self-love in whatever ways work for you because what we give our attention to is what grows in our awareness. Taking time each day to give our attention to healthy self-loving behavior helps healthy self love to grow in our awareness. It may be as simple as saying to yourself, “I love you!” every time you look in the mirror, even if you aren’t feeling it in the moment. Also while looking in the mirror, ask yourself, “What is the most loving thing I can do for myself today?”

Feb 05, Friday. The Scorpio Last Quarter Moon (17 Scorpio 04) is exact at 3:46 pm Pacific Time and is located between the two brightest stars of the Scales known as Zuben Algenubi and Zuben Alshamali. These stars represent the balance point between yin and yang, male and female, Heaven and Earth. The Scales also symbolize justice, or what just is. When we work with the principles of natural law (or cosmic law) and human rules or laws, then we can find the balanced wisdom of how these laws support the full experience of our divinity even in this dense dimension of life. The last quarter Moon also relates to the seasonal energy of Autumnal Equinox. These energies remind us of the importance of balance, of sacred union (cooperation) within ourselves and in our world. When we are in peaceful loving balance within, our world reflects that balance without.

Feb 06, Saturday. Moon moves into Sagittarius and is visible approaching Antares activating deeper awareness around the importance of experiencing our personal truth. This assists in naturally speaking and expressing the heartfelt truth that is ours to express.

Feb 07, Sunday. Venus conjuncts Chiron (25 Aquarius 34) and Neptune (25 Aquarius 54) near the end of her underworld journey. Venus rises into the evening sky on February 22 moving 10 degrees beyond the Sun. This Venutian council meeting with Chiron and Neptune is catalyzing the divine feminine (Venus) in ways that deepen her transformative shamanic process and deepen her intuitive knowing prior to her return to the Middle World (when she rises as evening star). This is the time for Venus to deeply listen with her heart to what Chiron and Neptune are sharing with her. (See Feb 8, 17 and 22)

Moon approaching AntaresMoon occults Antares for the last time this year and for several years to come due to the 19 year cycle of the Moon. This Moon Antares occultation completes a series of occulations that began in 2005. It will be about 2024 before we have another series of Moon Antares occultations. This event is happening around Noon Pacific Time so is not visible in the western time zones. The Moon occultation over Antares is the last activation in the current series attuning our frequency to the Golden Gateway through the doorway or stargate portal of Antares. The Golden Gateway is where the ecliptic crosses the Milky Way near Galactic Center (GC) forming one of two Galactic Crosses in the sky.

This Galactic Cross is the area of the sky where the December Solstice Sun is now rising, something that only happens for about 144 years at the end and beginning of a 26,000 year cycle. This series of occulations by the Moon is systematically assisting humanity in attuning our vibrational frequency with the Golden Gateway by amplifying and transmitting the Antarian light codes. In the greater wisdom of the cosmic unfolding these occultations have accelerated the process of naturally attuning our DNA to the frequency or resonance of the Golden Gate as Earth is ascending into a new cycle. This isn’t about doing something to get in alignment. It is already happening. Being open and receptive to these vibrational energies coming in helps facilitate a more conscious experience.

The ancient Greeks, who received much of their knowledge from Egypt, believed that souls reside in the Milky Way between incarnations, and that there are 2 “gates” on the Milky Way. These are the Silver Gate of Gemini (the constellation of the Twins), through which souls descend to earth, and the Golden Gate of Sagittarius (the constellation of the Archer), through which souls ascend. Other versions say the souls of men (humans) can ascend by either gate, but that the Silver Gate leads to reincarnation and the ancestors, and the Golden Gate leads beyond reincarnation. Feb 08, Monday. Venus is still in council with Chiron and Neptune having made her exact alignment late yesterday or in the early morning hours today depending on your time zone. Remember Chiron is an Underworld Initiator that requires digesting and transforming of the wounds that hold us back from experiencing our true selves. Neptune is a Celestial World Initiator supporting the process of deepening intuition when we are willing to listen to our inner knowing.

It is interesting to note that our current calendric system, known as the Gregorian Calendar instituted on the 24th of February 1582, is designed to focus our conscious awareness on the physical world only. It was also designed to promote materialism and commerce, and has had the effect of disconnecting humanity from the natural cycles. This calendar was so unnatural to the indigenous tribes around the world they resisted following it. Because this calendar was created as a tool to dominate the collective consciousness, disconnecting individuals from their own inner knowing, resistance to adopting it contributed to the mass slaughter of indigenous people around the world.

When we are disconnected from our inner knowing we are more easily seduced by the illusions (Neptune) of the physical world. The Gregorian calendric system made it much easier to program people to adopt the belief system that their value and worth is connected to how much stuff they have (consumer consciousness) and how much money they make. However, once we are aware of this construct we can begin to make different choices. When we trust our inner knowing – knowing what we know even when seemingly beyond the confines of logic and reason - it is easier to experience psychic connection with the source of all that is and all that is possible.

Venus is that deep intuitive inner divine feminine aspect we all carry within, providing a physical pathway for these energies to birth into this reality. Attuning to and following the cycle of Venus is one way to shift our consciousness away from the confines of the current calendric system. Evidence suggests the Venus cycle was highly important to the Mayans and the Sumerians and other ancient cultures. For example, one of the Mayan calendric systems tracked a 260 cycle the amount of time Venus is in either the morning or evening sky.

Now is the time to call upon the wise one within us, the part of our self that knows, and trust that guidance even when it seems radically out of the ordinary. Requesting signs that let you know you are on track provides confirmation giving you the confidence and assurance you are indeed following your chosen path.

Feb 09, Tuesday. The Moon moves into Capricorn passing over the Galactic Cross and catching up to Pluto. The Moon meets in council with the Shamanic Initiator Pluto taking us further into the truth of our being, pushing us beyond our edges where we can experience and know the pure essence of our truth within ourselves and our world. This is often a scary process because it requires us to enter the unknown where events outside of us are beyond our control. Sitting in council with the Moon and Pluto reminds us that there are two very important keys in this transformative process. They are trust and surrender. Pluto reveals what has been hidden for the purpose of reconnecting us to the source within that is helping us to rediscover who we truly are. Resistance produces increasingly difficult events beyond our control until we finally do surrender.

Mayan Calendar

Feb 10, Wednesday. One year from today, according to Carl Calleman’s interpretation of the Mayan Calendar we enter the final phase of a 16.4 billion year process referred to as Universal Consciousness and operating through the principle of conscious co-creation. This phase accelerates our experience of events in time moving 20 times faster than the previous phase. This means that the evolutionary process that once took hundreds of thousands and millions and billions of years is now being recapitulated in 13 phases of 20 days each. With each baktun completing in just 20 days we will experience all 13 baktuns in 260 days reaching the completion point of this part of the process by October 28, 2011.

Here is another way to explain this.

There are nine levels, or primary ages, the Mayans identified. The first level, or age, took nearly 16 billion years to complete and each level after that has accelerated 20 times faster. Each level, or age, has 13 baktuns, also referred to as 7 days and 6 nights. We are currently in the eighth level known as the Galactic Consciousness phase. The acceleration of events in time at this juncture finds us completing each baktun in 360 days. This started in 1999. On February 10, 2011 we enter the last level or phase as mentioned before known as the Universal Consciousness Phase. This will lead us to the completion of the entire 16.4 billion year cycle on October 28, 2011.

This means we are rapidly approaching the last acceleration that will take us to the zero point. What happens after that is unknown.

From the Shamanic Astrology perspective the speeding up of time is another indicator for the end and beginning of a “Galactic Year” or as Plato referred to it a “Great Year” spanning about 26,000 years. The main point here has to do with the continued acceleration of our experience of time and the importance of moving beyond logic and reason because we will no longer have the time to figure out what to do. …The first of these 260-day Sacred Calendar rounds, the one which actually begins on 9.9.9 and goes on until May 26, 2010, may be seen as a period of build-up to the Ninth level that is suitable for prayer, meditation and mental focusing. We encourage community building, networking and spiritual synchronization in this time period, also of a practical nature. The second 260 calendar round, starting 27.05.10 (May 27, 2010) will create a preliminary arrival of the Ninth level and the beginning of this will be marked by the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18, 2010, (when Uranus and Jupiter are in their closest square to Pluto and opposition to Saturn) a significant focus point for spiritual projects of a practical nature that will prepare for the birth of a new world. The third Sacred Calendar round of 260 days will begin February 11, 2011 and includes the actual activation of the Ninth level, the Universal Underworld on March 8, 2011. This may be the most dramatic of the three steps as it leads up to the establishment of the highest energy state of the universe on October 28, 2011….

…To the best of our knowledge this highest energy state of the universe will be attained on the energy 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ahau (13 and Ahau are symbols of completion in the Mayan calendar) on the Gregorian date October 28, 2011. This highest state does not in any sense mean the end of the world, but only that all the Nine wave movements are then completed. Maybe we can use the metaphor that we are now about to climb the last hard steps of a ladder until we climb on to the roof where we will find a new stability under our feet and a place to rest…. Coinciding with this theme is the movement of the transformational messenger Mercury into Aquarius traveling through this area of the sky until March 1. In the Aquarian realm perception and communication operate through the air element. Air conducts light and sound. Inspired messages are abundant from this place when we can take a moment to detach from the physical and emotional realms for the purpose of tapping into the cosmic overview. This is where spontaneous conscious co-creation is more easily accessed.

Moon and Mercury

Feb 11, Thursday. Venus moves into Pisces until March 7 connecting with her heart-felt visions and dreams. In just 11 day Venus will rise from her underworld journey having gained the wisdom of the death and rebirth process and she is rising with a new experience and understanding of compassion for her own challenging journey as well as compassion for others. Venus rises having been transformed by her shamanic initiation. This Venus has grown and changed as a result of her underworld journey therefore she is not the same Venus who descended into the underworld back in December. She has confronted her darkest parts and has found the courage to love herself anyway. These next few days are an important time to nurture yourself and take the time to experience what you love to experience. (see February 22)

Feb 12, Friday. The waning Moon is passing 2.3 degrees NW of Mercury about 21 degrees before the Sun in the morning sky and Mercury (4 Aquarius) is trine retrograde Saturn (4 Libra) illuminating the highly creative, inspired, innovative thinking energies available to us when we give them permission to flow easily through us. This suggests Mercury has the benefit of Saturn’s Middle World concentrated focus to begin and complete actions that revolutionize our perception and experience of this reality.

Feb 13, Saturday. The Aquarius New Moon (25 Aquarius 18) is at 6:51 pm Pacific Time and the Moon is passing by Chiron (26 Aquarius 01) and Neptune (26 Aquarius 07). Plus Mercury (4 Aquarius) is opposite retrograde Mars (4 Leo). This new Moon “super council” with Chiron and Neptune is the closest New Moon point to the exact Chiron Neptune conjunction and Mercury is sitting about 20 degrees away. This is a time for further energizing the mysteries of innovative kindness toward self and others. Kindness has the power to facilitate radical life changing experiences at a deep cellular level.

Dr. Wayne Dyer spoke about the power of kindness and the research that has been done in his book The Power of Intention. It turns out that when a person initiates an act of kindness, receives an act of kindness or witnesses an act of kindness their serotonin levels increase and their immune system is strengthened. Serotonin is a feel good hormone that increases happiness and an overall sense of well being.

This kindness research is further supported by experiments being done on rats in Switzerland. Researchers created a way for rats to feed each other but not themselves. It turns out the rats seem to enjoy helping each other. Additionally, when rats receive acts of kindness they are more likely to be kind toward other rats.

Another research project in Japan shows that taking the time to recount acts of kindness increases subjective happiness.

kindness When Chiron entered Aquarius in February of 2005 I wrote this article describing this transit as an opportunity to further the Kindness revolution. Over the years Gratitude has been an important aspect of raising our personal vibration. What we might conclude from the kindness research is that adding Kindness also raises our vibration and further accelerates and accentuates the power of Gratitude, along with increasing our skill as conscious co-creators.

The research study in Japan showed that keeping a Kindness journal made a significant difference in the happiness experienced by those who were engaging that practice. So I invite you to consider keeping a daily or weekly journal recounting acts of kindness you do for yourself and others, the acts of kindness others do for you and the acts of kindness you witness in your daily life, along with recounting what you are grateful for each day.

Chiron will bounce in an out of Aquarius this year and leaves this area of the sky on February 9, 2011. Chiron will not return to Aquarius until April 3, 2055.

Feb 14, Sunday. Happy Valentines Day and Chinese New Year of the White Tiger. The white tigerChinese New Year starts in China on February 14 with the New Moon. Due to the time difference the New Moon for the United States was yesterday. Also today the Sun is conjunct Chiron (25 Aquarius) and Neptune (26 Aquarius) and the Moon is conjunct Jupiter ( 6 Pisces 22). The Aquarius New Moon (24 Aquarius) inspires us to envision and seed the freest possible expression of our true heart’s desire.

The Chinese believe the Tiger is a symbol of power, authority, luck and great courage. This is a time to courageously express the wisdom and strength of your personal power through your own inner divine authority for the purpose of creating your own luck and magic during this Chinese year of the White Tiger.

Also today the Sun conjuncts Chiron (26 Aquarius 04) and Neptune (26 Aquarius 09) illuminating the forefront of innovative, cutting edge, shamanic healing energies and technologies. This furthers the Aquarian conspiracy that is actively creating paradigm shifts in consciousness designed to create a shamanic healing process that reconnects us with our inner knowing.

On February 16/17 Chiron and Neptune make their first exact conjunction though they traveled close together all last year. This represents the synchronization of Chiron’s 50 year cycle with Neptune’s 165 year cycle and they will not come together again until the 20th of September 2094 when Chiron and Neptune meet at 4 Virgo 47.

Also today the Moon meets with Jupiter and Venus. (See Feb 15)

Feb 15, Monday. The Moon passed by Venus (4 Pisces) and Jupiter (6 Pisces) sometime yesterday though not visible due to the close proximity to the Sun. This council of Moon, Venus and Jupiter is further illuminating the Piscean mysteries of selfless service, through a compassionate desire to help and heal. What is important to remember is that self-healing must come first and then Pisces can genuinely hold the safe space for others to find their own path to wholeness. Feb 16, Tuesday. The Moon conjuncts Uranus before moving into Aries and crossing the March Equinox gate. The Moon and Uranus meet in council to consider new and innovative ways to shift humanity’s current assemblage point around the mysteries of compassion and healing right as Venus has been in council with Jupiter (6 Pisces) much of this month. This exact meeting of Venus and Jupiter is not visible to the naked eye as they are only 9 degrees from the Sun. This means the Magical Feminine (Venus) is encountering the expansive imaginative energies of Jupiter inspiring greater compassion and healing possibilities.

Feb 17, Wednesday. Chiron and Neptune (25 Aquarius 51) made their exact conjunction late last night or early this morning depending on your Time zone. This council meeting of Chiron and Neptune has been in close contact since last year and will continue to be within three degrees or closer all of this year. This is a once in many life times powerful personal initiation for those who have planets or angles between 26 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio and one degree of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius.

Chiron operates in the Underworld and is the archetypal Wounded Healer teaching about the transformative power that occurs when we turn our wounds into the medicine we carry through radical acceptance of our human condition and the paradox of being human and divine at the same time. Neptune operates in the Celestial in the realm of deep intuitive divine knowing that operates beyond logic and reason. This is a time for sitting in council with one’s self, deeply listening with the heart in ways that support the shamanic healing process of embracing and accepting our humanity. This is the great gift these wounds have to teach us about our very human and divine self. This includes the magical tools of surrender, trust, and compassion.

Feb 18, Thursday. The Sun moves into Pisces until March 20 illuminating the mysteries most interested in helping and healing. This comes from the natural empathy and compassion of this archetype and its connection to the Bodhisattva ideal. Ven. Thanissaro Bhikkhud describes it this way… The Bodhisattva path is centered on the unimaginable goal of assisting all beings in attaining full enlightenment by way of acquiring great wisdom and compassion for the benefit of themselves and others.

Emir Salihovic suggests the Bodhisattva path of helping others is a cure for the feeling of separation. The key is to genuinely help others through compassion and willingness to assist in ways that are what a person really needs while releasing judgments about what you think they need.

…It must be something which helps other people to live their lives better, but in their own estimation, not your estimation. It opens a flow between you and others, relieves you of the burden of egoism, and opens space for fresh insights about life, relationships with other people and even the way your mind functions….

Healthy Pisces is heart-centered and compassionate. The shadow of Pisces occurs when a person is giving to get or to control another person in some way. Helping others in the way they need to be helped so they can heal, be whole, and be self-sufficient is the real and true Bodhisattva way.

Feb 19, Friday. The Moon moves into Taurus transmitting the mysteries of receivership, beauty and intimacy. Intimacy is often associated with sexuality but is so much more than that. There are many levels of intimacy depending on the type of relationship as well as how willing you are to share the deeper more vulnerable parts of yourself. Deep intimacy with a lover is different than intimacy with a friend, however, in both cases it does require being willing to feel what you feel and to share your feelings even when it is painful. Therefore true intimacy occurs when you trust the other person will value and respect the process. Research shows that real intimacy is one of the most essential elements in health and well-being. When the Moon passes through Taurus it is an opportunity to note how you are doing with personal intimacy. Are you willing to go more deeply into an intimate relationship with yourself or with a significant other?

Feb 20, Saturday. Chiron (26 Aquarius 29) and Neptune (25 Aquarius 22) are continuing to work together to assist in breaking the spell, or dissolving the illusions, of our current reality. Through the shamanic healing process designed to transform the wounds of the past (Chiron) while engaging the visions of the future (Neptune) the trance or spell that has enslaved or disempowered most of humanity is disintegrating.

We can consciously participate in this process by paying attention to what we are choosing to be conscious of now. This makes sense when we remember that what we give our attention to is what we are becoming consciousness of at any given time. We do have the ability to choose what we give our attention to and this is facilitated by our intention. Intention is a way to focus attention and focused attention on connecting more deeply with our inner knowing is a key to further facilitate the gift of transformation intended by the Chiron Neptune conjunction.

Japan, Moon occulting the Pleiades Feb 21, Sunday. The Moon moves into Gemini as it occults the Pleiades and the first Quarter Moon is at 3 Gemini 17 just past the Pleiades and moving toward Aldebaran (10 Gemini) tonight. With the nearly first quarter Moon occulting the Pleiades we have a double acceleration (including the occultation and the first quarter Moon) of the Pleiadian stargate energies. The Pleiades mark the outer edge of the Sacred Hoop as the Moon then reaches its first quarter between the Pleiades and Aldebaran the key to the Silver Gate.

… the Silver Gate is above Orion, at the centre of the Duat; the Egyptian Netherworld which was represented on the ground in the Giza area. The Silver Gate is just above the “hand” of Orion, who the Egyptians associated with Osiris, and they depicted him holding a star in his hand. In the Orion Mystery, Bauval & Gilbert presumed this to be the star Aldebaran. Now, Gilbert has found that the Egyptian word for star, s’ba, also means “door”, so Osiris is holding a Star-Gate. The Gemini First Quarter Moon represents the balance between light and dark and is the most visible and rapid growth phase of the Moon. The Moon is crossing the threshold that accelerates whatever process is already in motion. The Moon continues to increase in light until the Virgo Full Moon on Feb 27. This is coyote energy reminding us to laugh at ourselves, not take anything to seriously and in the process gain deeper insight into who we are, uncovering the hidden beliefs that limit our experience. Humor and laughter are the healing gifts of the comedian taking us out of the ordinary and providing the space and opportunity for a more playful, fun and creative experience.

Venus Feb 28Feb 22, Monday. Venus moves 10 degrees beyond the Sun today and officially emerges from the underworld into the evening sky. Venus has been traveling with Sun (in the underworld or otherworld) since December, meaning Venus has NOT been visible in either the morning or evening sky. After the Sun sets tonight Venus (08 Pisces)it may be visible low on the horizon. However, as in the sky map here Venus is still very low on the horizon and may not be visible without binoculars as late as Feb 28. The return of Venus to the evening sky is the symbol for the Queen of Heaven regaining her throne after the completion of her underworld experience.

Starting in March Venus will make seven conjunctions with the Moon symbolizing the return of the vestments she relinquished during her descent into the underworld. This is especially significant for anyone turning 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96 between April 3, 2009 and November 3, 2010 as this represents the completion of your own personal underworld initiation recapitulating the Venus cycle of your birth. Every eight years Venus returns to the same area of the sky it was eight years prior.

The current Venus cycle that began April 3, 2009 is about the integration of the Amazon Warrior feminine archetype into the collective psyche of humanity until November of this year. The monthly Venus Moon conjunctions, when Venus retrieves her vestments, are worthy ceremonial times especially if you are in your Venus return. Ceremonial witness of Venus as she rises into the evening sky honors our sister planet as she emerges from her underworld journey. This may be a good time to reflect on how the past couple of months in the underworld phase of the Venus cycle have been informing your life experience either as your sacred feminine expression if you are a woman or as your connection to your inner other if you are a man.

Feb 23, Tuesday. Moon passes by the Galactic Edge as it moves into Cancer and transmits the incoming light codes from beyond our Galaxy. Plus the Moon in Cancer includes the mysteries of responsible nurturing and recognizing the importance of consciously regenerating before nurturing others. Practicing daily self-care, resting when tired, and self-nurturing in gentle, easy, conscious ways, assures our health and vitality so what we have to give comes from wholeness and balance.

The Sun (5 Pisces) sextiles Pluto (5 Capricorn) meaning the Sun is now 60 degrees from Pluto. The Sun Pluto sextile signals the approaching retrograde station of Pluto on April 6, 2010 at 5Capricorn25. If you have planets or angles between 2 to 6 Capricorn degrees or any of the other Householder signs (Aries, Libra, and Cancer) you are in a personal Pluto initiation. Pluto is preparing to retrace the area of the sky it just crossed.

Pluto is about death and rebirth. The death process is not a punishment, or a judgment, rather it is an integral part of the natural phases of life. In Capricorn the death of the old systems, including the political and financial structure, are inevitable. In recent months events have fueled fears around lack, scarcity, and dwindling resources. These fears are surfacing and coming to light so they can be transformed. Whatever fears are coming up now are there for us to acknowledge and transform.

This is not the time to project our fears, undesirable thoughts, feelings, and actions on others by casting blame outside ourselves. Rather this is the time to look within, meet our fears, and thank them for teaching us. Blessing your fears is a way to ensure they no longer have power over you. When we project fear onto the government or economic crisis or other external events it distracts us from taking responsibility for what is really going on inside of us.

If you notice you are feeling judgment and anger toward anyone, or anything, or any institution it is time to ask yourself what fear inside you is seeking your attention? This is a gift you give yourself because it is our reaction to situations outside our control that helps bring our own shadow to light so we are no longer at the effect of it.

Feb 24, Wednesday. The waxing Moon is visible in the Twins approaching the two bright stars Castor (magnitude 1.98) and Pollux (magnitude 1.14) at the edge of the Sacred Hoop. In Greek mythology, Castor was mortal and Pollux was immortal. The Twins were among the crew members that joined Jason and the Argonauts in finding the Golden Fleece. It was during this voyage that the Twins gained their reputation for being the patron saints of sailors. When Castor died, Pollux asked Zeus to let him share his own immortality with his twin to keep them together and that’s when they were transformed into the constellation of the Twins.

Castor and Pollux were raised by Chiron, the Shamanic Alchemical Healer. The Twins took what they learned from Chiron to assist the quest for the Golden Fleece, another alchemical symbol. They also represent mortality and immortality or the human and divine aspects we all carry. The Moon amplifies these mysteries and remind us of our multi-dimensional nature when we choose to engage these realms through our intention and attention.

Moon and Mars near Beehive
Feb 25, Thursday. The Moon passes within 5 degrees of Mars near the Beehive Cluster. This is an area of the sky Mars crossed just before turning retrograde late last year. This link shows a great animation of the Mars retrograde illustrating the passage of Mars over the Beehive Cluster three times. You might need to scroll down the page to find it depending on what other animations are on the page at the time. Noting where the waxing Moon is tonight helps to locate this area of the sky.

The Beehive Cluster appears as a faint smudge about 6 or 7 degrees to the east of the Moon. If you have really dark skies or binoculars this is easier to see. This cluster of stars conjures the imagery of a busy beehive operating from the principle of cooperation, where one is making their contribution to the greater whole. The Moon and Mars are meeting in council with these stars supporting Mars in his new quest for radical self-love. The Moon acts as a wisdom teacher for Mars and also amplifies the mysteries of radical, radiant self love and self confidence supporting Mars in awakening to his true, radiant and shining essence and the importance of working in cooperation to co-create a golden age of peace and plenty for everyone.

Feb 26, Friday. Chiron (26 Aquarius 55) and Neptune (25 Aquarius 26) are being joined by Mercury exact tomorrow. The ongoing council meeting of Chiron and Neptune joined this The Golden Dome on the MUM campus month by Venus, the Moon, the Sun and Mercury in the avant-garde, innovative sign of Aquarius bringing to mind the technologies that are have been developed around the concept of entrainment. I first heard the term entrainment in the 1970’s when I was attending what was then known as Maharishi International University and is now Maharishi University of Management (MUM).

The school focused on the study of consciousness especially as it was understood through the physics. In the 1970’s we studied the Vacuum State (now know as the Unified Field), Phase Transitions (describing when an element was being brought to a Super Conductor state at very low temperatures), and entrainment.

This is the phase when the electrons in the element become increasing chaotic and seemingly more random. Then a few of the electrons start falling into an orderly phase with each other, then the electrons nearby start resonating with the orderly energy. When one percent of the electrons in the element fall into phase or resonance with each other a sudden transition occurs seemingly within the blink of an eye and all the electrons fall into a coherent phase or entrainment with each other.

The term entrainment was originated by physicist Christian Huygens in 1666 when he noticed two pendulum clocks had matched each other’s rhythm. Intrigued he experimented further and found he could duplicate the results. The bottom line in the science of physics is that entrainment appears to be related to resonance. There are many great innovative technologies available now that entrain the brain to resonate with highly desired frequencies such as peace, well-being, balance and centeredness. Feb 27, Saturday. Mercury joins the Neptune Chiron council exact today. Mercury is the messenger, the bringer of news and information. In Aquarius the information is cutting edge and innovative. With Neptune and Chiron it is transformative and designed to support a deeper connection to our inner knowing.

Other ways to entrain ourselves to higher frequencies include consciously choosing where we are focusing our attention. Feb 28, Sunday. The Sun conjuncts Jupiter around the time of Virgo Full Moon exact at 8:38 am Pacific time. This meaning the fullest waxing rise of the Moon was last night as the Moon will already have begun to wane by Moonrise tonight. The Full Moon is a fulfillment or fruition point and appears full for at least three nights, the night before the exact Full Moon, the night of and the night after. Once each year the Moon is Full in Virgo illuminating the ancient mysteries concerning the patterning of life, and the natural cycles and rhythms that helps us Maria Nafplotou, who plays the role of high priestess, transfers the flame from the olympic torch during a rehearsal for the Lighting Ceremony of the Olympic Flame for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games at the Ancient Olympia site on November 21, 2009 in Olympia, Greece. The torch was lit using the rays of the sun in the ancient sanctuary where the Olympic Games were started in 776 BC, near the temple of Hera. Torchbearers will carry the Olympic Flame through Greece for eight days before a hand-over event on October 29 in Athens, after which it then goes to Canada.to know what time it is.
