Cayelin September 2010

This picture of me was taken by Peter in September 2010 as I am nearing the end of another Plutonic Transformation that also shifted me physically as I have been in my own life/death/life process. The gift of this Pluto/Saturn initiation is that I am once again feeling younger than my 54.5 years.YAY... Much Gratitude for the Pluto empowerment and the Saturn restructuring especially now that it is almost complete.

2010 October Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell

…So, in the end, the fleshing of herself, the Skeleton Woman enacts the entire creation process, but rather than Clarissa and Women Who Run with Wolvesbeginning as a baby, in the way Westerners are taught to think about life and death, she begins as bones and fleshes out her life. She teaches the man to make new life. She shows him the way of the heart is the way of creation. She shows him that creation is a series of births and deaths. She teaches that protectionism creates nothing, selfishness creates nothing, holding on and screaming effects nothing. Only letting go, giving heart, the great drum, the great instrument of the wild nature, only that creates.

That is how love relationship is meant to work, each partner transforming the other. The strength and power of each is untangled, shared. He gives her heart drum. She gives him knowledge of the most complicated rhythms and emotions imaginable. Who knows what they will hunt together? We only know that they will be nourished to the end of their days. ~Clarissa Pinkola Estes Women Who Run with the Wolves Chapter 5 Hunting: When the Heart is a Lonely Hunter (see October 3, 8, 9, 12, 18, 20, 23, 24, 28 and 31 for more)

The theme of conscious relationship as taught by the story of Skeleton Woman is woven throughout the October Celestial Timings. These past weeks with Venus and Mars near Saturn in Libra has emphasized the themes of conscious equal partnership in sacred union. Now Venus and Mars are coming together in Scorpio. This time has brought many old paradigm relationships to the breaking point, either breaking down and breaking apart or breaking down to come together in a more wholistic and fulfilling way.

What I have been hearing is this theme has been noticed by practitioners of many differentShortly after we met hiking in Sedona modalities including most especially Shamanic Astroloy practioners. For me personally I find I have an ever deepening and increasing gratitue for the conscious equal partnership I share with my beloved (Peter) and our committment to grow this experience with each other. (Picture to the right is Peter and me in April 2006 hiking in Sedona)

For Peter and me (pictured together here), the Venus Mars conjunction has accelerated and further facilitated our relationship growing stronger, more vital, and fun as we approach the 4 year anniversary of our sacred union wedding ceremony that took place in Sedona, Arizona on October 22, 2006. We choose that date because Venus and Mars were together with the Sun (the source) and were off the world stage, meaning they were not visible in the middle world. This means they were not engaged in the old relationship paradigm, but Oct 22 2006 Peter and Cayelin getting married in Sedonarather it was the perfect set up for sourcing a new relationship paradigm of conscious equal partnership and sacred union. Since Peter and I both had previous failed marriages we knew we wanted to create our sacred union from a new paradigm perspective, therefore this Timing was exquisite for informing and supporting our intent. (picture to the left is Peter and me getting married in Sedona Oct 22, 2006 near sunset)

There were only three people who attended our ceremony; the person officiating and two witnesses, all sworn to secrecy for the next year and a day. This was because we were holding our ceremonial intent in sacred trust to give the intention time to establish itself fully in the middle world without any interference from the old paradigm. The wedding ceremony took place a few hours after a 28 degree Libra New Moon with Venus and Mars conjunct. By the time of our wedding almost 20 hours later, the Moon had moved into Scorpio, perfect for a secret ceremony intended to create a new Sacred Union paradigm not only for ourselves but also adding to a new collective template for all those in the greater collective who are engaging their own conscious equal union with a beloved.

Peter and Me July 2010 at my High School reunion...So here we are four years later with Venus and Mars together since July in a long sacred union dance of nearly four months. There first conjunction in August was in Libra and now this month they join in Scorpio. I had no idea when I began writing the October Timings that I would share our sacred union story and in fact had written a completely different introduction. Then unexpectedly I felt compelled to write this story and share it with the intent that it inspires and acknowledges your individual journeys regardless of whether it is with an external beloved or your inner other or both. (Picture above is Peter and me in July 2010 before the above mentioned physical transformation...at my High School reunion in Colorado)

Finally I feel guided to share that there have been many ups and downs as Peter and I navigate our fears and find ourselves continuing to clear all that has not been in alignment with the ceremonial commitments and intentions we made four years ago. It has been a wondrous and sometimes challenging sacred union journey we both feel is by far more amazing and supportive than what we were imagining when we got married almost four years ago. What follows are the main commitments we made to each other and what we live by - although admittedly sometimes more easily and gracefully than others!

We committed to:

It is done and it is So and we give thanks!

Daily Timings (all times PDT unless otherwise noted)

October 01, Friday. Mercury (27 Virgo) opposes Jupiter (27 Pisces) at 3:36 pm. Mercury in Virgo is keenly aware of the pattern of life and the importance of recognizing the pattern in order to co-create with it. The intent of Mercury in Libra is to create harmony and balance with our personal and collective perspective for the purpose of experiencing peace of mind. When we are in harmonious relationship with the pattern we can more easily co-create peace of mind because it is easier to recognize the patterns and how to work with them.

For example, when a person is first learning to drive a car the pattern is unfamiliar. One must keep track of their speed, what lane they are driving in, the traffic lights or signs, the other cars around them. How long it takes to stop. How to make turns and so many other factors that we eventually take for granted once we know the pattern of driving. In fact, it becomes so automatic that we often don’t consciously think that much about how to drive. This is true of anything we become skilled at doing. At first there is a learning curve and then once it is familiar and we feel certain of what we are doing an intuitive or automatic response takes over. When we have certainty about what we are doing there is greater peace of mind about whatever it is we are doing.

hypnosisThe downside of this is when it becomes hypnotic or so automatic that we are no longer consciously participating. With Mercury opposite Jupiter today and Uranus tomorrow there is a possibility of expanding or interrupting the automated patterns. This is intended to get our attention and get us more involved in actively co-creating our reality.

The waning Moon is 8.1 degrees S.S.W. of Pollux (23 Cancer 15) at 10:00 pm but not visible until the wee hours tomorrow morning in more western time zones. (See September 2010)

Sep 4 Sky Map

October 02, Saturday. Mercury (28 Virgo) opposes Uranus (28 Pisces) at 7:23 am suggesting there may be a major assemblage point shift in our perception of reality. As stated yesterday, Mercury in Virgo is focused on perceiving the intricate weavings of the patterning of life. Uranus is the great disruptor or change agent that expands our perception of reality and how we are co-creating our current time-line through focused awareness on our intention through attention to time and place. When we are present or attentive to the flow of creation and how it is manifesting for us then we become conscious of it. When we are conscious of it we can co-create with it. If we have entered a trance state and are acting out of habit then Mercury opposite Uranus may act as a catalyst or wake-up call where something or someone unexpected comes along to alter our perception of what we believe is real.

The waning Moon is 4.3 degrees SSW of Beehive Cluster at 10:00 pm.

October 03, Sunday. Mercury moves into the sign of Libra at 8:03 am where it remains until October 20. Mercury in Libra is the expression of mind most interested in conscious relationship. Conscious relationship includes a healthy relationship with life that is facilitated through peace of mind. However, the mind tends to look for danger. Have you ever wondered why in the world disastrous news is fascinating to so many? Our minds were originally designed to notice danger including predators or any unsafe situation. For many the mind is still scanning the environment looking for danger either real or imagined. Being aware of this tendency is helpful in making new choices.

Mercury is leaving Virgo this morning where it was focused on perceiving the pattern, noting disturbances in the pattern and taking steps to restore it. In Libra, Mercury is seeking peace of mind that is the result of being in harmony and balance with the pattern of life. If you are feeling unsettled this is the time to look for a personal pattern that is creating that feeling. The first step is to a acknowledge the feelings and the patterns that are feeding them. Then you can make a conscious choice to change that pattern, while remembering it often requires persistence and willingness to continue to override the old patterns through making conscious choices before a new and healthier pattern is established.

Venus and Mars together near Zuben Algenubi

Mars and Venus (12 Scorpio 52) are conjunct at 2:58 pm. This is the second exact conjunction. The first was in August. The August meeting took place in Libra emphasizing conscious equal partnership. Today’s sacred marriage point is happening in the tantric realm of Scorpio symbolizing a powerful sacred union of the magical feminine and magical masculine exploring the mysteries of life force energy, ecstasy and passion through their sacred union encounter. Plus, both Venus and Mars are within 3 degrees of the fixed star Zuben Algenubi. Mars is in range of this star from Oct 3 to 13. Venus stations within 2 degrees of this star on October 8. (See October 8)

Clarissa Pinkola Estes has a powerful Scorpio Sacred Union story in her book Women Who Run With The Wolves. The story is about Skeleton Woman (Chapter 5) or Lady Death who knows the powerful transformative ways of Life and Death. We learn that “Lady Death is not a disease, but a deity.” She not only knows the cycles of endings and beginnings, she Skeleton Womanknows their importance.

The story is a telling of an unexpected resurrection of Skeleton Woman by a fisherman whose hook catches Skeleton Woman and retrieves her from the depths of the ocean. When he sees the Skeleton rise from the water he is terrified and runs for his life. Later, he finds himself facing Skeleton Woman because she is caught on his fishing line that he is still holding onto, so she is following him.

The story is about the fisherman learning how to face death and therefore embrace life - ultimately creating the Sacred Marriage he longs for in the deepest part of who he is. Facing what scares him most, in this case death, he finds a part of himself that had been lost. This process serves the awakening of both the sacred feminine and the sacred masculine. “It is Skeleton Woman who demonstrated that a shared living together through all increase and decrease, through all endings and beginnings, is what creates an unparalleled love of devotion.”

This story of Skeleton Woman as shared by Clarissa Pinkola Estes is a potent reminder that we have forgotten the love that Lady Death has for the dying, easing their pain and opening the way for a new birth, for new life. We are taught to fear death and change, to see it as a failure or a punishment. The reality is Lady Death is a part of our own nature, she is the inner authority that knows how to dance in the realms of “Life/Death/Life” because in order to have new ecstatic life - the old life must die.

To have true and genuine partnership with oneself, or with another, it is essential to learn the ways of Lady Death. Embracing the mysteries of death is key to our liberation. Lady Death teaches our hearts to sing – singing us into authentic aliveness when we know that the experience of death is a necessary step to greater life. Until we can embrace these life/death/life mysteries it is not possible to experience an authentic sacred union! (Related themes are found on October 8, 9, 12, 18, 20, 23, 24, 28 and 31)

October 04, Monday. Mercury (2 Libra 54) squares Pluto (2 Capricorn 54) at 11:08 pm bringing to awareness the power of our mind to either support us in being who we really are and/or revealing the hidden fears that drive our choices. This alignment has the power to wake us up out of any hypnotic trance we may be experiencing that keep our minds in a limited frame of reference…meaning a narrow focus of attention…enslaving the masses to a tightly restricted range of identity. This has been so artfully accomplished that many aren’t even aware of how programmed our greater collective reality is.

This summer’s rare t-square/grand cross has further shaken the foundation of the cultural trance state. Mercury with Pluto is a time to bring this shadow to even greater light. This is not easy to face or embrace. It may even be downright scary, however if we are ever to free and empower ourselves from the current limits of the mass hypnotic dream it is essential to take responsibility for our own experience and gather the courage to face our deepest fears.

The waning Moon is 4.5 degrees S.S.W. of Regulus (29 Leo) at 3 pm, the heart of the lion, so will be beyond Regulus tonight.

October 05, Tuesday. The Libra stellium with Sun 12 Libra, Saturn 8 Libra and Mercury 4 Libra is about to be joined by the Moon over the next couple of days. Mercury will catch up to Saturn on October 8 and catches the Sun on October 16. This Timing has to do with the interaction of the personal with consensus reality. Consensus reality comes from the ruling collective opinion, or general agreement, about what the rules of life are.

These rules or agreements are usually directed by those who have the money and power to influence perception. This includes people we work for, our elected officials though they are often being manipulated by those with money and their own agenda. This influence also extends to control the media. It turns out that the media is one of the best ways to control or influence what we believe is true. Personal truth, on the other hand, is based on our direct experience. The challenge at this time is to sort out the difference between the accepted truth of our collective consensus reality and our personal truth finding the balance that supports who we truly are.

Jupiter is visible directly overhead by about 9:00 pm, and sets in the West around 5:00 am.

October 06, Wednesday. The waning crescent nearly New Moon (26 Virgo) is at perigee at 7:00 am. This means the perigee Moon (when the Moon is closest to the Earth) is almost 17 hours before the New Moon. Last month the perigee Moon was less than six hours from the exact New Moon.

The Moon is also passing 6.7 degrees SSW of Mercury (6 Libra 29) at 11:08 pm Pacific Time. Neither the Moon or Mercury will be visible until the early morning hours. The Moon is a transmitter and Mercury is a messenger so the messages being transmitted at this time are around the mysteries of partnership, relationship and balance with all life. This is about remembering how to be in conscious relationship with everything around us, including the The Elementschanging seasons, the planets and their cycles, the animals, the plants, the people, the elements of earth, water, fire and air, and Great Mystery.

This is about taking time to listen and notice what is manifesting around you and then ask how you can be an even more conscious participant. Libra is an Air sign and is the most intangible of all the elements. Taking time to connect with this element can help to inform our experience around the Moon and Mercury in Libra. Connecting with Air, happens when we are feeling the wind and paying attention to our thoughts, the sounds and smells around us, and how we are responding to them. If a person is in harmony with this element they will express in ways that are intelligent, innovative, Airopen-minded, curious, objective and observant. When a person is out of balance with the Air element they often express as being indecisive, spaced-out, scattered and unable to communicate clearly. (The above Elements Image and Air image are part of a card set I designed this summer. More information coming next month)

Maintaining or establishing a healthy relationship with air is facilitated by working with aromatherapy, essential oils, and incense. Plus, healing sounds through music, singing, chanting, bells, and drums, also help create greater balance with air along with breathing practices, meditation, and visualization. And finally, thinking up innovative ways to connect with this element is an Air kind of activity.

October 07, Thursday. The Moon is 7.2 degrees SSW of Saturn (8 Libra 32) at 2:24 am and the New Moon (14 Libra 24) is at 11:45 am. Plus Mercury is very near Saturn during this New Moon window. With Mercury and Saturn in Libra this is a time to think about the most effective ways to restructure our awareness and Middle World experience around how we relate to ourselves and each other. The Moon acts as an amplifier and together Saturn, Mercury and the Moon are illuminating possibilities of healthier partnership and relationship experiences when we are willing to release old concepts and beliefs and are open to new ideas and ways of perceiving healthy interactions.Libra Card
This is one of the cards I designed with the help of a talented Graphic Designer

A potent symbol for this is the round table council, or sacred hoop, or circle of life, that includes every part, every point, every perspective as valid and essential to the whole. Currently this understanding is not recognized globally. Everywhere we look there is strong evidence that there are those who do NOT value or consider others important because of their race, religious beliefs, gender, life style, or simply because they look different.

The old paradigm tends to operate on exclusivity. However, when we exclude any part of life we are excluding a part of ourselves. The new paradigm of healthy conscious equal relationships must be built on the understanding of the importance of inclusivity. Said another way, we are all in the same boat, we are all on the same planet or spaceship Earth and we are all essential to the health of the whole.

In the last months of the cardinal t-square many have been experiencing the disintegration of relationships that were built in the old paradigm beliefs and judgments. This will continue in the months to come as the old paradigm is being purged so new healthier ways of relating can emerge. This is similar to the snake shedding its old skin. It isn’t easy and it is often uncomfortable but it is necessary for life to continue and growth to occur.

This New Moon is the time for consciously seeding a new relationship paradigm that begins with a personal commitment to take responsibility for creating a healthier relationship with your self first. For some this will mean ending unhealthy relationships with those who are not willing to take personal responsibility for their relationship experience. Shedding an old relationship that has outgrown its usefulness is not easy, but it may be essential if you truly desire to create and experience healthy fulfilling relationships going forward.

Scorpio

October 08, Friday. Venus (13 Scorpio 14) stations retrograde at 12:06 am. Venus goes retrograde every 18 months or so and remains in retrograde for about 40 days. Mars only goes retrograde every 26 months though it remains retrograde for almost 4 months. Jupiter, Saturn and the other outer planets go retrograde each year for about 4 to 5 months. Mercury goes retrograde three times every year (sometimes four if there is a retrograde station early in January and late in December) staying in retrograde motion for only three weeks each time. This means that Venus has the least number of retrograde days than any other planet.

Contrary to popular belief that a planet is weakened when it is retrograde, the visual reality is the planet is closest to the Earth and brightest in its cycle when it begins its retrograde phase. This means that visually the planet is in its strongest most visible appearance in its entire cycle. Any planetary station does create a pause as it reverses direction as observed from the earth. This creates an emphasis that draws from the archetypal sign the planet is in as well as the stars that are around it.

The Venus retrograde in Scorpio is emphasizing the feminine mysteries of the Shaman Sorceress Witch who works through the alchemy of transformation and the cycles of life, death and rebirth. Scorpio asks what needs to die? What beliefs, ideas, concepts, habits, and attitudes are ready to be released and transformed to support our fullest connection to passionate, alive, life force energy?

This Venus station is within a couple of degrees of the fixed star Zuben Algenubi, one of the main stars of the Scales, representing the balance point between yin and yang, male and female, Heaven and Earth. When tuning into the imagery of the scales as a way to locate the balance point, remember this star requires us to take responsibility for finding our own inner balance. As Within, So Without means that when we have inner balance we will also experience outer balance in the world of form.

With Venus retrograde in Scorpio near Zuben Algenubi the opportunity is to look more deeply within for our empowerment noting where we may project our fears and inadequacies outside of ourselves. Until we can accept and embrace these aspects of ourselves, rather than project them onto others and dissociating from what we judge as negative, we will never experience wholeness and balance. In this way the Venus retrograde in Scorpio represents a significant time of personal empowerment for the divine feminine. However, if we are unwilling to embrace these shadow aspects of ourselves we may feel we are at the affect of circumstances that are disempowering and beyond our control. The reality is these events are designed to transform us!

The tiny waxing crescent Moon is 2.8 degrees SSW of Spica at 2:00 am and may be visible beyond Spica tonight. Mercury (8 Libra 40) is .53 SSW of Saturn. This is a very close passage of Mercury by Saturn but there meeting is lost in the pre-dawn glow. (see October 7)

Venus Moon and Mars around 6 pm

The tiny crescent Moon above Venus and below Mars visible just after sunset around 6 pm.

October 09, Saturday. The waxing crescent Moon is conjunct retrograde Venus (13 Scorpio 12) at 10:35 am and Mars (17 Scorpio 05) at 5:06 pm. This means that the waxing Moon is also passing through the stars of the Scales, Zuben Algenubi and Zuben Alshamali. Again these stars represent the balance between yin and yang, the old and the new, including the old wise ways and the new ways that foster healthy growth and evolution.
In the Scorpio realm there is much to learn from the mysteries of Lady Death as Venus prepares for her new journey beginning on November 4.

It cannot be emphasized enough that it is our fear of death that has disempowered us from genuinely knowing how to live fully and from moving more organically with the natural cycles of life, death and rebirth.

Life and Death are not separate from one another but are interwoven so intricately that it is impossible to separate them though we often try. It helps to be willing to dive into these mysteries and allow them to inform you. This creates a greater possibility of discovering any fears that maybe holding you back from living an authentic, ecstatic life, and that keep you from taking risks that are enlivening.

What dreams (if any) are you afraid to dream or act upon because it means some part of your current life would change, would die, would not be sustained? Whatever the death, remember it is necessary for new life to emerge.

October 10, Sunday. 10/10/10. Triple numbers especially in dates like 10/10/10 are activation grid for the Gulfactivation portals further accelerating planetary awakening. Some are calling this the Crystalline Stargate Activation Grid Point. This is a Timing that invites your participation to see what it means to your life.

The waxing crescent Moon moves into Sagittarius at 3:09 pm Pacific Time. The Moon is visible in the West after sunset, approaching Antares, the bright red star marking the heart of the Scorpion. The exact conjunction will be tomorrow morning, so by tomorrow night the Moon will be visible beyond Antares. Noting the Moon Antares connection tonight on this 10/10/10 gateway speaks to the stargate that is open via the number magic as well as the Moon’s passage by Antares (a.k.a the Golden Gateway to Galactic Center).

Antares is an ancient royal star with associations with Archangel Uriel who instructed Enoch giving him 64 keys for the New Heaven and the New Earth. 64 is an intriguing number as it is the number of hexagrams or teachings found in the I-Ching. In J.J. Hurtak's book The Keys of Enoch the 64 keys are said to be revealing 64 areas of physical and spiritual the 64 tetrahedron gridscientific knowledge. These 64 Keys or Codes are literally the structural basis of our entire creation in the 64 tetrahedron vector equilibrium as revealed by physicist Nassim Haramein of The Resonance Project. This project is working with new solutions to Einstein’s field equations and some of the conclusions are:

Instead of seeing ourselves as separate from everything around us, this view allows us to recognize that we are embedded in a fractal feedback dynamic that intrinsically connects all things via the medium of a vacuum structure of infinite potential. This research has far reaching implications in a variety of fields including theoretical and applied physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, chemistry, sociology, psychology, archaeology, anthropology, etc. A fundamental understanding of the dynamics of this interconnectivity redefines the lens through which we see the universe and our place in it, and leads to theoretical and technological advancements that move us towards a sustainable future. This new approach to the physics of universal forces has the potential to solve the most pressing issues of our times. http://theresonanceproject.org

October 11, Monday. The Moon exactly conjuncts Antares during the day today, so the waxing crescent will be visible beyond Antares tonight. (See October 10) The energy of the Saturn (9 Libra) Mercury (14 Libra) conjunction that happened a few days ago is still active as the two planets rise in the glow of the dawn (so they are not visible). The Sun rises a few minutes later at 18 Libra. Mercury catches up to the Sun on October 16. This continues to support conscious sourcing of a new sacred marriage experience. What are the messages? How can we surrender to this deepening initiation into the union of our soul with spirit and our feminine and masculine aspects?

October 12, Tuesday. Mars and Venus can be seen within 6 degrees of each other disappearing below the western horizon just after sunset. Mars has moved to 19 Scorpio and retrograde Venus is at almost 13 Scorpio. In the shamanic realm of Scorpio where the mysteries of life and death are inescapable and we encounter the power of Lady Death to transform what is ready to be transformed. Resistance does not stop the life/death/life cycle. However, resistance can and does cause great pain. Trusting the process even though we have no idea where it will take us is an act of faith that this is part of the natural unfolding of life/death/life. Surrender and trust allow for the return to “wise innocence, one that creates and re-creates…”

Moon on the Galactic Cross

The waxing crescent Moon is approaching on the Galactic Cross at Galactic Center Oct 12 and moves beyond it by October 13.

October 13, Wednesday. Venus is disappearing from the evening sky and will reappear in the morning sky around November 4. The waxing Moon is conjunct Pluto (3 Capricorn) at 2:57 am illuminating the shadow and the fears that often drive people to find ways to numb out, escape, and go unconscious because they feel powerless. The feeling of powerlessness feeds complacency and that feeds the corruption of our current political and financial structures. The good news is these failing structures are ultimately going though the death process even though it has been seemingly agonizingly slow.

It is important to acknowledge our resistance to the disintegration of the old structure as we face our most primal and survival oriented instincts. Again…the old forms must die before new forms can birth. It is NOT helpful to project our fears onto others or situations outside ourselves. This includes any fear-based thoughts or reactive feelings. Rather this is the time to look within and meet our fears with courage, taking responsibility for them so they no longer have power over us. The act of projecting our fear onto the government or economic crisis or other external events distracts us from engaging what is really going on inside where the real fear resides. The outer circumstances are a gift to get us to look at our inner reality. The best way to begin transforming fear is to acknowledge it.

October 14, Thursday. The waxing First Quarter Moon (21 Capricorn 26) is at 2:27 pm and represents a rapid growth phase when decisive action is helpful. This is time to take decisive action first by getting organized in thoughts, words and deeds. What we think underlies all we create, what we invoke through our words brings our thoughts into manifestation and how we act upon our thoughts and words helps to define the form the manifestation takes. Of all the mystery schools perhaps Capricorn knows best the pathway of sacred geometry and manifestation that brings spirit into form.

The archer pointed at GC

This month features the return of Pluto to the fixed stars Spiculum and Polis both zodiacally located at near 3 Capricorn. Spiculum and Polis are a part of the bow in the constellation of the Archer. The fixed star Polis (also 3 Capricorn) is located in the upper part of the bow of the archer, emitting an energy that stimulates ambition and motivates people into action.

According to Dr Eric Morse in his book The Living Stars, Spiculum is a Latin word for dart or point of a weapon and is the star that most directly points the way to Galactic Center. He says: Spiculum is a star that can produce a very real feeling of companionship with the entire Universe and its Creator. And this star has the remarkable ability to dive deep into the seas of philosophy, returning with joyous and meaningful answers. In Page Bryant’s book Starwalking she says Spiculum:

“…is composed of two star clusters and three nebulas (M8, the Lagoon Nebula, M20 and M21). A nebula is concentrated area of star energy, a stellar vortex if you will. This kind of power energizes the full force of a person’s will power. Spiculum’s energy will be released by the Regulators just after the year 2000, and it will bring about a leap in human spiritual evolution. On an individual basis Spiculum’s influence will eventually help bring us to the point of self-realization.”

Interestingly, Mars was conjunct Spiculum on the infamous September 11, 2001 and now Pluto is here…

October 15, Friday. The Sun is conjunct Spica starting today through October 19. Once each year the Sun passes by this star around these dates. This means those with birthdays from about October 15-19 have Spica as a personal star. Is the bright blue star located in the hand of the Virgin Priestess energizing the sacred mysteries of conscious equal partnership, harmony, and balance. (See October 8 and 16)

October 16, Saturday. Today the Sun is exactly conjunct Mercury (23 Libra 24) and Spica in the psychopomp phase of the Mercury cycle. The psychopomp is a guide for souls journeying through the unknown especially after death. The psychopomp is a mediator between the conscious and unconscious realms familiar with the territory that goes beyond normal physical experience. When Mercury is linked with Spica in its psychopomp phase the ability to intentionally access the awareness of the super conscious with the conscious mind is greatly enhanced as I shared in the September 2010 Timings from the book Starlight Elixirs and Cosmic Vibrational Healing by Michael Smulkis and Fred Rubenfeld:

Spica has the ability to transfer awareness from the super conscious to the waking conscious mind and can also enhance lucid dreaming states and psychic abilities.Spica strengthens the physical body in the cervical vertebrae of the spine. This is the physical location in the body that symbolizes the separation of body and mind. So Spica creates an interchange between the separated selves assisting in the remembrance that there is ultimately no separation. Thus, Spica helps to bring the principle of oneness more fully into our conscious minds.

Working with Sun, Mercury and Spica through intention, meditation, prayers, chanting or any other activities that open you to other dimensional experiences are likely to be unusually potent today. It is important to listen for inner guidance and creating a sacred safe space is recommended for enhancing this possibility.

October 17, Sunday. Waxing Moon conjunct retrograde Neptune (26 Aquarius) at 11:49 http://www.visionheartart.com/heart_of_space.htmlam. The element of surprise, unusual events, by whatever it takes to shift our perception and bring us closer to a sacred connection with Spirit is now being amplified. One way to work with this is to consciously attune to our compassionate heart space.

Some refer to this as the holy of holies within our being, the inner secret chambers of the heart that guide and direct our lives when we are choosing to trust and act on our heart-knowing. Heart directed living is not necessarily logical or rational, it doesn’t always make sense from a middle world perspective. Indeed it often may seem completely irrational and illogical and yet when we trust it and act on it - magic and miracles are often an unexpected result. (Above image here)

October 18, Monday. In this season of remembering I honor the two year anniversary of the passing of a great friend and mentor Nicole Christine, founder of the Awakening Priestess Process, a Magdalene Mystery School, The Sacred Order of the Venus Templars, and The Divine Creation High Priestess. She was also author of several books. Many Pagan traditions remind us that What is Remembered Lives. (see October 31) This website link honors and remembers Nicole’s work. http://magdalenemysteries.com

Mars (22 Scorpio) moves beyond 10 degrees separation from retrograde Venus (11 Scorpio). Both are sinking lower on the western horizon visible for a short time after sunset. This marks the end of the Sacred Union phase of this current Mars Cycle as Venus is already preparing for her next journey in Scorpio beginning November 4. Scorpio is the archetypal realm of the death and rebirth mysteries as described by Skeleton Woman or Lady Death. Being willing to surrender and completely trusting the death process is when something magical and far more amazing than what we imagine can then be birthed. It is the gift of the life/death/life process. Thus, Mars and Venus are heading out for their separate but equally important initiations and transformations. They will rejoin each other next May.

Moon with Jupiter October 19

October 19, Tuesday. The Waxing Moon is 6.5 degrees NNW of Jupiter (24 Pisces 57) at 10:15 pm worth seeing in the evening sky tonight. Jupiter is expanding the Pisces mysteries of genuine love and compassion. If you have planets or angles in Pisces even if they are early degrees you may personally feel the effects of the waxing Moon illumination with the expansive qualities of Jupiter that are intended to bring a renewal of vision for how it is we can help and heal ourselves, others and our beloved planet!

Mercury zodiacally conjuncts Izar 28 Libra in the constellation of Bootes the Herdsman, Izar in Bootes the herdsmanprotector of all creatures. Due to Venus stationing direct near this star next month, this is a great opportunity to tune into Izar’s mysteries and listen for the message that are connected to this area of the sky. Izar was a star revered by many ancient cultures as the place where their ancestors originated.

This star has also been seen as a source of life, and those with strong connections to this area of the sky (planets or angles between 25 to 30 degrees of Libra and even the first degree of Scorpio) generally have a keen interest in humanities origins. There is also a protective nature about this star and the constellation of Bootes in general. The herdsman sees to the safety of his herd and the task of moving it safely into the future.

October 20, Wednesday. The Waxing Moon is 5.8 degrees NNW of retrograde Uranus (27 Pisces 31) at 3:25 am illuminating the mysteries of radical compassion. Radical compassion occurs when we are no longer competing with others for survival but rather realize we are all in this together - like fingers on the same hand. When we judge others we judge ourselves. When we fight with others, we are fighting ourselves. When we hurt others, we are hurting ourselves. Yet, most do not remember or even realize this is true. We have become so disconnected from the rest of the hand that we have forgotten we are not a separate finger all on our own, but rather we are still connected to the hand. The reality is the hand is so much more efficient when all the fingers work together.

Also Mercury moves into the sign of Scorpio stimulating the passionate mind. Mercury remains under this influence until November 8 when it moves into Sagittarius. Mercury is the messenger and in Scorpio the messages tend to come in the form of the life/death/life cycles. If death is too scary to contemplate then think about what is being renewed and what must be released before the renewal can happen. Every moment dies and is then reborn in the next. Every in-breath is a rebirth and every out-breath is a form of death. Breathing in and out is our moment to moment experience of continually living and dying.

Mercury’s journey through Scorpio is a time for considering the gifts of death. Death is NOT bad. Life is NOT good. Both life and death exist simultaneously. Our conscious mind tries to out run death and control outcomes without realizing that what we are really trying to out-run is the greatest treasure, the greatest teacher we can have. So this is the time to stop, turn around, and face the death or transformation that is pursuing us and open to receive the teaching and treasure that is ours to experience.

The Life/Death/Life nature is a cycle of animation, development, decline, and death that is always followed by reanimation. This cycle affects all physical life and all facets of psychological life. Everything – the Sun, novas, the Moon, as well as the affairs of humans and those of the tiniest creatures, like cells and atoms – has this fluttering, then faltering, then fluttering again…The instinctual nature has the miraculous ability to live through all positive boon, all negative consequence, and still maintain relationship, to self, to another.
~ Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

October 21, Thursday. Retrograde Chiron (26 Aquarius 11) and retrograde Neptune (25 Aquarius 59) are within 12 minutes of an exact conjunction as they both move toward their direct station. Chiron stations direct on November 6 at 26 Aquarius 04 and Neptune stations direct on November 6 or 7 depending on your time zone at 25 Aquarius 55. This means Chiron and Neptune are within 9 minutes of each other as they station direct. The long interaction of Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius is reaching its final culmination over the next few weeks. Then Chiron moves back into Pisces mid-February 2011.

Neptune initiates from the Celestial World in ways that are designed to increase our intuition or inner knowing. Chiron initiates from the Underworld requiring that we encounter our own shadow elements for the purpose of embracing them and integrating them into our strength, into the medicine we carry.

From the Aquarius realm this has been about revolutionizing conscious awareness and the importance of radical, revolutionary change necessary to create the New Earth. Tuning into this gathering of Chiron and Neptune from a big picture perspective over the next few weeks assists us in making the most of this Timing. If you have planets or angles in late degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio this gathering has been a personal initiation for you over this past year that will continue into next year as Neptune returns to 28 Aquarius before it stations direct in November 2011.

October 22, Friday. The Aries Full Moon (29 Aries 33) is at 6:36 pm. This is the second Full My Sekhment statueMoon in Aries. Last month the Aries full Moon was at zero degrees just after the Autumnal Equinox. This is one of the features of a true Blue Moon. (See Article) Seasonally Aries is a time of rapid growth and youthful, exuberant energy dedicated to the process of self-discovery. This often shows up in the form of aggressive play or competition designed to test the strength and skills of a warrior who fights to uphold the cosmic order of life. Last month I shared the Sekhmet Mantra and how that is related to altering experiences of Time and Space. (Please see Sep 23, 2010 Celestial Timings for the mantra)

Mars (26 Scorpio) squares Neptune (26 Aquarius) at 8:35 am and Chiron (26 Aquarius 10) at 2:50 pm. Restlessness (Mars) and confusion (Neptune) or actively (Mars) connecting with the Divine (Neptune) are some of the ways the energies could show up today. Honoring your feelings and taking responsibility for your personal experience helps to direct this alignment in ways that will inspire, expand and transform.

October 23, Saturday. Sun moves into Scorpio at 5:35 am and the Moon moved in Taurus last night. The seasonal move of Sun into Scorpio at 5:35 am this morning begins a 30 day journey dedicated to the mysteries of death and rebirth. Death is a part of the natural cycle of life. In times past the death mysteries were honored and celebrated at this time of year.

In the current time, fear of death dominates many people’s life experience. Practices honoring the ancestors and those who have died were essential to ancient people who understood the importance of maintaining a healthy organic connection to the life/death/life cycle. “What is remembered Lives!” Many plants are dying now as their season is nearly complete and they are beginning to synthesize what is needed to create new seeds for the next cycle. This is a time of inner reflection and noticing what needs to die, what is ending, and what is beginning.

The asteroid Vesta and Venus are conjunct today at 8 Scorpio. (See October 24 and 25)
October 24, Sunday. Vesta and Venus are still in close conjunction and Mercury is moving to join them and will be exact with Venus tomorrow and with Vesta on October 26. Vesta was the primary goddess of the vestal virgins. The original meaning of the word virgin referred to a woman who was unmarried. The priestesses in the temple or original vestal virgins were unmarried but many were also trained in the ways of sacred sexuality.

It was in Roman and early Christian times when the meaning of the word virgin began to change to mean a woman who had not had sex. As beliefs and definitions were changing these new emerging attitudes became an early manifestation of the split between sexuality and spirituality. Thus, the asteroid Vesta carries the original codes of wholeness and sacred sexuality. Venus and Vesta in Scorpio with Mercury are a powerful symbol for the returning wholeness of the Divine Feminine. This includes a healthy understanding of the life/death/life process and the regenerative power of life force energy (including sexual energy) when it is used properly.

October 25, Monday. Mercury is conjunct retrograde Venus (7 Scorpio 37) at 6:17 am and the waning Moon is passing 7.6 degrees N of Aldebaran (9 Gemini 49) at 11:00 pm. Venus and Mercury together are also known as Inanna and Ninshubar. Ninshubar represented Mercury and in the Inanna telling they do joyfully meet after Inanna rises up from the underworld. However this meeting is taking place in the underworld as Inanna prepares for her rebirth into the Scorpio Archetype on November 4. This meeting of Venus and Mercury is near the fixed star Khambalia located on the left foot of the Virgin Priestess.

Khambalia

Khambalia is the star that was acknowledged by the ancients as having penetrating secret knowledge. The root word of Khambalia is linked with the word Shambala used to describe Heaven on Earth. So the gathering of Vesta, Mercury, and Venus with Khambaila suggests a portal is open to those who genuinely seek the secret knowledge of living Heaven on Earth.
October 26, Tuesday.

The Sun (3 Scorpio) is sextile Pluto at (3 Capricorn). When Pluto and the Sun reach 60 degrees from each other (sextile) after Pluto’s direct station (September 14) there is a sense of fueling Pluto's mission for bringing about a further integration of the last retrograde cycle while also preparing to move boldly into new territory. When we allow ourselves to come from acceptance of what IS, accepting all that we are feeling including our angry, hurt, vengeful, confused, less than lovable places most of us carry inside, then we are able to accept and embrace our denied parts and to transform them through radical forgiveness, radical love, and radical acceptance. This is the magic elixir that allows our individual Will or feelings to come into alignment with our individual expression of Spirit.

October 27, Wednesday. Mars moves into the sign of Sagittarius at 11:47 pm and travels Sagittarius Cardthrough this sign until December 7. Mars traveling through Sagittarius is activating the spiritual quest for expanding self-understanding, knowledge, and the true meaning of life as it relates to our individual and collective experience.

October 28, Thursday. Sun conjunct Venus (5 Scorpio 30) at 6:10 pm. This is a symbolic return to the source where the divine feminine is absorbed into the light and prepares for a new birth into the Scorpio mysteries that will occur when Venus rises as a morning star on November 4. The Venus journey through Scorpio is a descent into the feeling realm where we have the opportunity to embrace the power of the Life/Death/Life process. It may be scary and painful as old wounds are uncovered for healing and transformation through greater empowerment. When we contact the inner Sorceress, Lady Death, or Skeleton Woman, and learn her mysteries the beloved is revealed and support comes in new ways. Clarissa Pinkola Estes sums this up beautifully saying:

It is a profound occasion when you create something of value through your lover’s belief in you, through his heartfelt feeling about your work, your project, your subject. It is an amazing phenomenon. And it is not necessarily limited to a lover; it can occur through anyone who gives his or her heart to you in a deep manner.

October 29, Friday. Pluto (3 Capricorn) and the North Node (4 Capricorn) are near their exact conjunction coming up on November 9 at 3 Capricorn CardCapricorn 26. It helps to note that the Nodes move backward through the signs and it is about every 19 years that the nodes will encounter Pluto. So for those who are currently in a Pluto cycle with planets or angles near this degree you are also experiencing a point of destiny converging with Pluto’s power to annihilate all that stands in the way.

If you are currently in a nodal return this is also a highly significant time. Anyone who has their North Node in Capricorn (South Node in Cancer) meaning your date of birth is located in one of the time frames on listed on the table below) you are probably still in your Nodal Return. The North Node moved into Capricorn on August 21, 2009 and leaves Capricorn on March 04, 2011. (This link will help you discover your own Nodal cycle)

May 31 1916 to Feb 13 1918 Capricorn
Mar 09 1935 to Sep 13 1936 Capricorn
Oct 10 1953 to Apr 02 1955 Capricorn
Apr 28 1972 to Oct 27 1973 Capricorn
Nov 19 1990 to Aug 01 1992 Capricorn
Aug 21 2009 to Mar 04 2011 Capricorn - current Nodal Cycle
Mar 27 2028 to Sep 23 2029 Capricorn

The Nodal Return is one of the most important Timings that occurs on the Timeline of life, as this is where magic happens if we are aligned with our life purpose and are consciously engaging the cycle.

October 30, Saturday. The Last Quarter Moon (7 Leo) at 5:46 am is about 4 or 5 degrees S.S.W. of Beehive Cluster. The Last Quarter Moon represents the return threshold and integration phase of the current Moon cycle, integrating the gifts and knowledge and experiences gained thus far. This is a time to take note of how well you are doing with the process of self-love, self-approval, self-acceptance, and self-confidence.

The key of course is self-love. This is not the kind of self-love born out of narcissism or hubris but rather comes from a deep experience of your inner beauty, divinity and light. When we genuinely love who we are, that is what we radiate into the world. This means that healthy genuine self-love is one of the greatest gifts we give ourselves and all life.

October 31, Sunday. Europeans are setting their clocks back to Standard Time. Other Daylight Savings Time observers are changing their clocks a week from today on Sunday November 7. Happy Halloween a.k.a Hallowmas or All Hallows Eve. Hallow in middle English means holy and Halloween means hallowed evening or Holy Night. There was a time when Halloween was not a set date on the Calendar but rather it celebrated on the Full Moon nearest the exact astrological cross-quarter when the Sun reaches 15 Scorpio now occurring Samhainon November 7.

In Celtic traditions this time was known as Samhain (pronounced sow-in…sow is the same as wow) and was their New Year celebration. This year the Samhain Taurus Full Moon falls on November 21. The cross-quarter between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice is when the veil between the worlds is thinnest. Usually this is thought of as the veil between the living and the dead, however, more and more people are experiencing this as the veil between alternate realities and timelines. Approaching this holy time with reverence and clear intent is highly recommended.

Also today the waning Moon is passing by the Behenian Star Regulus as it moves into Virgo. The Virgo Moon is transmitting the mysteries of the patterning of life, including the importance of honoring the natural organic ways of this world. This includes the life/death/life cycles as they relate to the “BIG” picture and to our personal lives. Attuning ourselves to the natural patterning of our personal and collective lives is the way to be in harmony with all life. When we are living out of harmony with the natural pattern then resistance and obstacles appear that are intended to help direct us toward getting back on course. Celebrating the death mysteries as we move into this Samhain season is a powerful way to engage the pattern of this season.

Honoring and remembering our ancestors and those who have died is part of this ancient seasonal. Day of the Dead ceremonies and celebrations, creating ancestral altars, telling stories of those how have passed are all great ways to participate with this Timing. Starhawk reminds us that "What is remembered, lives" in a song she wrote and was performed by the Reclaiming Collective. Here are the words:

The Gates by Starhawk
These are the gates of youth and age
These are gates of now and then
These are gates of memory
And desire
Pass through them, slip between the worlds beyond time
Outside the boundaries of your human life
Pass through them, to dance the spiral
The journey of renewal
You warriors! Here your battles are over
You workers! Here your tasks are done
You who are hurt! Here find healing
You who are weary! Here find rest
You who are old! Here you will grow young again
For this is the land of youth, the shining land, the isle of apples
Here is all that ever was, none are forgotten
Nothing lasts forever
All that has passed comes around again
For here, What is remembered lives
What is remembered lives
